It is my duty, sir. Hopefully get them in the next week or so and then I'll try and throw something up.

Ordered a pair in the reddish brown. Sadly I won't be able to report on them till october since they're going to be a birthday gift.

For those of us still interested (I kopped a pair of AS this morning so I am out of the race), here is a solid write-up from one of my favorite Tumblrs, Down East and Out.

Great write-up, thanks Bourbonbasted.

I JUST received my red calf Shakespeare II in the mail. Awesome start to my Monday morning at work. As with the write-up in the link, really pleasant to receive additional goodies with the shoes.

While it's no Lowndes, great shoe nonetheless. My first thought was - it reminds me of my dub monks from Zees, which I'm wearing today.

Now everyone can afford a fair of nice dub monks. Of course, if you've got the extra cash go for the Lowndes :slayer: My Lowndes wins hands down (pretty much like how Man Utd whooped my Arsenal's ass last night :cloud:)

Thanks for the pictures. The shoes look great!

I wonder if anyone can provide more information on the detail and size. From the pics, they apear to be pointy. I know these shoes are made in outside of England and from my experience, non-English (e.g. Spanish, Italian) tend to run 0.5 size larger than English shoes.

Cheers!

I ordered a UK 8F and I wear a US 9D. They fit pretty well.

I ordered these a couple of weeks ago in brown and have been enjoying them since. I wear a 10D in US sizing and the 9F fit me the best, so a full size smaller. The leather quality and fit/finish is seemingly Loake 1880 quality, so don't go in expecting a cheap pair of C&J's.

I personally did not like the flat finish that the shoes came with, so I personally "burnished" the tips of the shoes with some black shoe polish. This burnishing enhances the look a lot, IMO.

As predicted the size 10 ran out but no indication of new stock.

If my size 10's don't fit, I'll flip then easily then, heh.

Like the burnishing.

I'm planning on hitting them with some medium brown.

Nice burnishing.. although I'll work some navy polish on mine instead.

Gotta say..this shade of brown isn't one of my favourite. But it sure fits well. I wear US 10 and UK 9 fits perfectly.

Per my experience, UK width F fits a snug US width D.
