Herring has just relaunched their Shakespeare Double Monk. Price point is really intriguing and I know these shoes have received high marks and sold out quickly in the past. Just wondering if anyone has owned a pair and can speak to their quality for the price.

Looking to pull the trigger on a pair of mid-ranged dub monks in the near future. Up until now I was saving for a pair of Bodileys but I want to see if I can get similar quality and save the $100 or so.

BTW shout out to DieWorkwear and YoungAmerican for dropping this at PutThisOn.com

Might be a dumb question, but are these even made in England? I emailed Herring and they dodged the question pretty quickly. The markings on the sole say "handmade" but do not indicate England at all. Combine that with the fact that they are Goodyear welted and the price point leads me to think they might get the "finished in England" Loake treatment or something similar.

From everything I have heard they sold out of them incredibly quickly last time around. Very hard for me to believe no one on here would have any insight, but perhaps SF is blinded by Lowndes.

Looks like I might have to pass and keep saving for the real deal...

Some models of classic collection are made in european union at the same price point
made in portugal?

suede with brass buckes are good looking, although last is too pointy for my taste

Looks like it's made by Barker to me. Make of that what you will. I'm happy with my Barkers for the money but they're no Church / Edward Green etc.

Awesome. Hopefully they don't sell out before getting to you if they end up to be a good value. Waiting with baited breath! Thanks for giving the forum a firsthand account!

For those of us still interested (I kopped a pair of AS this morning so I am out of the race), here is a solid write-up from one of my favorite Tumblrs, Down East and Out.

Which ones ? Ramsey ???
