i like the one from this year with a darker background.

I have last year's. Pretty nice piece. As stated before, the colors are excellent. Can't go wrong with either (if you have access to last season's). I would say that they do actually run small though. I have to get a small in the button up shirts. Ordered a small in the fairisle, but wish I could have gotten a medium. All of the sizes sold out relatively quickly and I had to kind of snipe the website to catch a return in a small. Better act fast on the new one.

Got a quick J.Crew question that someone may be able to answer: how is the sizing on the Chino shorts (or I guess J.Crew in general)? I'm looking at getting a pair of the 9" chino shorts and not sure whether to order a 33 or 34. I tend to oscillate between a 33 and 34 depending on the brand. 33 Norse Projects, 33 Epaulet, 34 Our legacy...

I'm just worried that going up to the 34 will make the leg opening bigger than I'd like, but I want them to fit my waist of course! I'm not in the US so I can't go instore to check.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Can anyone comment on the difference between the "broken in" chino shorts and the "essential" chino shorts? They appear to be almost identical. What's the fabric like?

Torn between getting the British Khaki 9" essentials and the Honey Brown 9" broken-ins. The colours appear to be almost the same (whereas the British Khaki essentials are not at all the same colour as the British Khaki broken ins for some reason...).

the colors will be very similar btwn the two shorts, the reason it seems difference is because the background color is different. honey brown is a little darker in person.

i think most of the broken-ins have a little more of those "i have this for a while" feeling than the essentials.

that's as far as I know on your question.

Damn, I was going to pick up a pair of those Chippewa boots in the next few days since the said expected ship date said October 4th. Just noticed that they now say expected ship date of December 7th. :fu:

I placed an order last week and got the same notification that the ship date was pushed back. Now I just a shipment notice stating my order is on it's way!

As you posted this I was live chatting with JCrew to make sure they were in stock (I noticed the December delivery date no longer showed up on the page) and then ordered a pair! :slayer: If anyone else is interested in these hop on it. The girl said they do have them in stock, but as soon as they run out of what they have now, then it really will be December.

What size did you get? I sized down 1/2 based on what little info I could glean from this thread. Although the jcrew rep advised they run true to size.
