Barbour is most definitely going to be better quality

Does anyone know if the 20% off coupons work on the Aldens? I need a pair of the Chukkas! smile.gif

Id go with the barbour one too, they just have higher quality standards.

Love the timex 1600 too.

It wasn't until I got home that I saw that the Barbour quilted vests on their own site were going for just $110.00.

Any word on quality differences between the two pieces? If Barbour is of higher quality, I'm going to return the J. Crew version and snag a Barbour somewhere else. The color is definitely more desirable, too.

Also picked up the Timex 1600 watch on a whim. Not bad.

not sure if serious question... barbour will outlast you!

BTW ORvis has some nice Barbour vest or at least they did.

Agree with all ....go with barbour. i bought the j crew vest last season. While I love the look/fit , and i only paid $55, the zipper needed to be restitched at the bottom after only 3 months of wear.

Usually don't work with third-party products - Alden, Barbour, Belstaff, etc.

I need a grey/brown jacket for fall and got a John Varatos one off Gilt but the fit kinda sucks so I'm sending it back. Thought these might be a solid option.

Carrying this over from the Spring Summer thread.... I called the same store today that had previously told me they might have sportcoats in early last week. Today the girl told me that they didn't have any sportcoats and wouldn't for about a month. I asked if that was true of all the stores in the area and she said yes. I guess I can always order online and then return if I don't like it, but was hoping to see them in person so I could pick one.

I would love to see this stuff in person but J Crew has only opened a woman's store in Yorkdale Mall (Toronto), so for now only mail order.

Has anyone seen this season's flannel shirts? Are they the same quality as last year's? Better? Worse?

I found last year's too be a bit thin...

WFU I might stop by my store sometime to check them out and get an idea on fits. Only thing is my store doesn't exactly get the top-end selection most get at the LA/ NYC stores etc.. But I'll try to stop by and let you know what I think if that means anything.
@ Taco yes everyone will agree with the Barbour over J-Crew. And only what 8$ more for way more quality is not that bad. Just order new one online and return the original at the store (for if I remember you get your shipping cost back?) Not sure but I think you do.

Anyone got a 20% off coupon or any kind of discount to hook me up with?

does anyone know if there is a difference between J.Crew's leather wingtips and Gifford leather wingtips? The only palpable difference is the color and the toe. I need a brown pair of wingtips for work/life and I'd like to hear your thoughts on these. Other suggestions are welcomed as well.

leather
500

gifford
500

FYI price difference is about $60.
