Weaves provide texture and body that can't be had otherwise, but printing provides options which may not be possible otherwise. A solid woven tie can still have a pattern, but prints can present patterns which might be ostentatious if woven in a somber, soporific manner. Which do you prefer?

Printed for more formal, woven for more interesting, less serious days.

And there's very good reason for that. Tit for tat though, in general I prefer woven ties to printed. I like texture.

This is like asking whether you like tits or ass. I like both

Sure. As do I. It's not meant to be a binding choice of sides from which you can never return. It's meant to be fun and a little stupid. The name is tongue in cheek. I brought it up because, while reading Soporific Tie Porn, Recent Purchases, and the Hober appreciation thread, there did seem to be a dichotomy.

This. Yesterday, all day in the office -- woven. Today, meet with top regulator of oil and gas business in TX -- print.

I prefer them both actually but might favor women ties a slight bit more.

Woven if I had to choose, but I love a good print.

Woven for me - as I tend to not be in formal situations as often.

Woven is great, but the unfortunate side effect of the more common woven ties is the sheen. For this reason, if the tie has a pattern, sometimes it's best to opt for a printed tie. Unless you're at a wedding, or wearing a tie for evening wear, shiny ties are to be avoided.

Low end printed ties are awful - shiny, ugly designs, fragile, etc.

At the high end I would choose printed almost every time, with the exception of grenadines etc. The drape, knots, colors, designs, and feel are far superior.
