big boss told me i don't know shit.

god damn i hate working for an international company. i hate the fact that because i look like said race from international companythey expect me to speak perfect their language perfectly?

on top of all this i have to write his bullshit script in ENGLISH (all meetings must be conducted in english... idk if that's some sort of weird american law or what) and then get ridiculed for doing a piss poor job.

for a strategy analyst... i don't know why i have to put up with this shit... it's not even like i get paid to do it.

bullshit. just got a call from him and he woke me up to tell me to show up early tomorrow. this couldn't have been done in the past 48 hours or so?

I should start a new "My boss is the female Michael Scott" thread.

So our PR head's last day was Friday. Thursday, President tells PR head to remove some files from the shared server. PR head does it- but he doesn't delete them, he moved them somewhere else just in case they were still needed. Friday Morning, President's assistant (also a woman, the two breathe through the same nose, to use a Cantonese expression) comes into the office to yell at PR head for deleting the file. After being yelled at for 15 minutes, PR head explains he was told to remove them by the President. Admin head seconds this as he also heard the president order this. President's assistant dials the president long distance as she is out of the country ATM to ask her if she really did ask for the files to be removed President suddenly "can't remember" what she had said the day before. President's assistant hangs up and keeps yelling at PR head. Later in the evening, the President asks Admin head to write up a declaration for the PR head to sign stating that he wasn't asked to remove the files from the server. PR head refuses, as it's his last day and tells the president to shove it. President refuses to let it go and keeps the admin head in the office until 8:30PM on Friday trying to get him to take action against the now gone PR head. Keep in mind that the files were backed up anyway and they could have just been moved back without any ado but instead they decide to waste everyone's time and resources dealing with personally motivated bullshit.

These two witches are going to be the death of the whole place.

Business intelligence or operation planning.

Ie. We do everything that no one else wants to do. And they get credit for it. It doesnt help that the new veep assumes we are just his personal assistants.

I do more work in a day than my co-workers do in a week. I better get a promotion soon.

Exhausted as usual from the weekend. More annoying is that I didn't do anything but rest yesterday. Have to stay back an hour longer to make up for time I take to head to my evening classes. Bleh

Shit Fuck God Damn it Motherfucker I didn't get the raise and promotion that I've been waiting since APRIL to hear confirmed! All theses months of people telling me "oh you'll get it for sure" and "you deserve this" and now nothing. I kept telling myself not to expect it but that if it happens great. But who am I fooling? I expected it. I go so above and beyond the normal scope of my job description and not just because of the career advancement that was in the horizon but because I really liked what I was doing. Now, I just don't know. I'm so deflated and frustrated and tired.

Am I being selfish? immature? Can anyone whose gone through that relate?
What should I do at this point?

I'd appreciate some helpful or insightful response...thanks guys satisfied.gif

Unless all this "you deserve this" talk is coming from the people that actually have the power to make it happen, it means nothing. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get your promotion. I know what that's like. Well, only a little. I just received a promotion a week ago. Got a pay increase, but because I'm still an college student and work part time, I won't see benefits until I get hired on as an employee. IDT you're being selfish. If you've put the work in, and have met some sort of requirement that entitles you to a promotion then you SHOULD by all means get the promotion. So, my question is, have you met company set requirements for said promotion?

Depending on what industry you work in, you probably won't. That's not how the game is played.

We are already understaffed in our department because no one wants the shitacular job, and now these 2 fobs that just started (I call them Fobio and Fobert) just got canned for lying about having felonies in their applications. Dumbasses, they would've gotten the job anyway.

Poster above explains why this logic does not work.

Mr Orange,
A bit of it did actually come from the mouths of the two with whom this decision layed.
I'm just going to keep my head down and push forward. I completely understand what you are saying about coworkers opinions meaning little in the overall decision process (influential one-offs aside)

My company actually does have a clear set of guidelines to meet before you can be considered. In my last review I either met or exceeded these expectation guidelines. I guess part of my frustration lies in the fact that a couple of those chosen display a great deal of qualities in common with the quintessential slacker. I'm sure that is just my perception and that my two UM guys do not view them in this light. I also can not compete with 34B-25-35 or the other slutty girl I saw leave the bathroom working a kink out of her neck last week!
