Hi, everybody!
I've been lurking here for some time and finally bit the bullet and registered. So, who am I? I love shirts, chino trousers (black or khaki), hip sneakers and retro eye wear. I'm from Sweden, so the simple, stylish designs from Acne and Filippa K suits me well. Moscot glasses is also something I love. Haven't found a pair of sneakers yet that could pair with Lemtosh glasses, black trousers, and a white oxford. Tell me!

Also, I've just recently started this blog thingy. Check it out here http://theviri.wordpress.com/

Hi all,

I've been a lurker for a little while here and decided to join up. I'm in the market for a leather briefcase that is rugged and long lasting but that I can also use at grad school and conferences for my laptop and accessories as well as books / papers etc. So any advice would be welcome. I normally use a backpack everyday but this is obviously not appropriate for job interviews and conference presentations etc. For those kind of events I usually wear dark suits (Boss mainly) and relaxed and comfy black leather loafers. For casual / general wear I usually go for function and durability over style so outdoor footwear like hiking boots, good walking shoes (and hiking sandals in the summer) with hiking wear in general is the order of the day as I live in the mountains. So I'm looking for a leather briefcase that would not look out of place with either of these two types of clothing.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I discovered this forum a week ago when I was looking for a medium where men could discuss clothes without being labeled gay :) I work in the financial services industry and I am a firm believer that looking good makes you feel good, which is a very essential asset in my industry (seeing I work with clients on a daily basis).

Since I started making money (mind you, not (yet) enormous amounts) there has not been a weekend that I did not buy something clothing related. Unfortunately, when I look at my current closet I realize that although I have a nice amount of clothes I never took into consideration whether shirt A would match with Suits A, B, C, D, .. So I basically have a lot of stuff that doesn't really match, which is why I searched for and stumbled upon this kind of site.

I like the WAYWRN and similar topics and will (try to) participate.

In highschool I used to wear a shoe lace as belt and only wore skate shoes (the most obvious choice as I was, in fact, a skateboarder) so it's no exaggeration when I say that I have no working knowledge of clothing materials, special colours etc. I therefore suspect that I will learn an awful lot using this forum :)

In terms of body shape, prior to started working I used to do Olympic Lifting/Powerlifting, and at my prime I weighed somewhere around 202.4 lbs (92kgs) at
5 ft 10.08 in
(178cm) at 11% BF.
In terms of buying "expensive" suits I am currently waiting to see how my body reacts to a life where I work 70-80 hours week, drink wine every day and exercice only in the weekends.

That's it I guess.

Cheers

Hello SF,
Bit of a lurker over the years but signed up mainly for sale corner.
Have been lucky enough to wear almost every menswear brand over the years (wrongly or rightly) inc Bespoke. Guess I'll always revert to smart casual - really enjoy special editions and unique items and things that are just well made. Quality is the key.
Best wishes Jpvfx

Hey ladies, new member here
I stumbled upon this site when I was looking to see what color shirt I could match with my pink tie lol
I'm very new to this whole classy way of dressing, but its definitely something Im interested in applying to myself and if you haven't already noticed, Im going to need a lot of help and advice to catch up with you guys. Also, I'm a sophomore in College so you already know what kind of budget Im on haha

I kind of already noticed some of the users here seem to "asshole-ish" which is great cause that **** is funny. Down for some funny's

I'm BIG BEN, an IT Professional. I'm a tall guy (6'6") with an above average since of style. I own a few custom suits and shirts. That can get a little expensive so I'm hoping to pick up a few recommendations for some stylish items, retailers for the tall guy. Also a big fan of footwear, mostly oxford/laceupes. I'm also hoping to pick up some ideas from the galleries and pictures that some of the members post.

Like many, I stumble upon forums while searching for info about specific topics. After finding my way here through a few different searches, I realized that SF broad and deep enough that I thought I'd stick around.

I'm a big man, and I'm interested in topics related to large guys who still like to look their best.

I'm also on an Allen Edmonds jag right now, 9 or 10 pairs in the past few months.

My name is Marc Fogel. I live in Beverly Hills California. Married, grown daughter.

6 foot, 1 inch, 200 pounds

I enjoy men's & women's fashion & try to keep up on the trends.

I enjoy a good deal on expensive clothing. It's way more fun that way.

My MAIN pet peeve is the current shorter cut of men's sports coats & suits.

What's that all about. It makes you look shorter & fatter. Not for me.

I would go custom made before I buy a shortie.

Hello, I've lurked SF for about a year. Finally decided to make an account. California Bay Area native, 19 years old. I'm in the minority of sizing. I weigh 115 pounds and am 5'5". My chest is 34 and my waist is 28, so finding clothes is a pain.
