Introduce yourself. - Page 291

Hi, My name is Angela Sum.  I'm the engineer slash designer that had a short stint on Project Runway season 13.

I have seen this forum googling since long ago but as a computer nerd, a fashion nerd, I'm a big introvert so I usually don't join forums.  I also didn't quite want to self promote to an extent... but I came across your kickstarter thread and my project launched less than 3 days ago has started off really well (funded 11k goal in 7 hours actually) so I should at least post my link on the thread :)

I shared a glimpse of my engineer/fashion-designer double life in my video, if you have 30s to waste, feel free to go watch it... its kinda interesting ;)

thanks, angela

Hi my name is Rich and I live in Yorkshire in England.

I live with some American women, which is just about tolerable smile.gif

I like a mixture of traditional British outerwear and boots Barbour/Barker/Loake and American Classics (LVC/RL)

I also lean towards 60s British MOD style a little bit during summer (Clarks desert boots/Sunspel polos)

I like classic European hiking clothes too (fjallraven/fracap)

I'm here to learn more about tailoring and dressing more age appropriately and stuff from other cultures, and stuff that improves with age

Rich

Howdy....I'm Mark, older than I look, (and don't I milk that!!) stuck in MD for the time being. I don't often have to worry about what I wear for work, because I wear the same thing every day (military). I'm here more for spare-time wardrobe improvement. biggrin.gif

Very long-time lurker. Figured it's time to give something back to the community; hope I'll have something of value to add.

Hello,

I've been in and out of the forum for a while, decided to finally start talking.  I currently wear a uniform to work, so spending tons of money on isn't exactly practical, but I still love nice clothes, and this forum has really helped me buy the most realistic things smartly.  I own a few entry level suits and nice pieces of clothing, and my upcoming wedding and pending promotion are both excuses to start to upgrade a few things.  I look forward to interacting with the all knowledgeable folks on here.

Hello. I'm N.J.M. Corbin. I'm nineteen, and I think I've reached the point at which constant hoodies, band shirts, and cheap skinny jeans just won't hack it any more. Last year, I invested in a Versace shirt (thrifted) and Helmut Lang jeans, which looked fantastic together, but: first a button fell off the shirt, so I took it to an alterations shop, and they lost it; then, I left the jeans at my mother's house in my hurry to pack up and get back to the city, and I have no clue as to what became of them. (A similar thing happened to my brown Tricker brogues, but they were so battered despite my daily routine of drowning them in polish that I couldn't really wear them any longer, anyway.) My day-to-day outfit consists of inadvertently faded Cheap Monday jeans (women's, as the shop I went into didn't have any men's jeans at all in my waist), a plain T-shirt, and one of my many leather jackets. I wear prescription specs, currently rectangular blue Cheap Mondays. I'm eyeing up various tortoiseshell ones, or maybe a clear frame, with a keyhole bridge, or perhaps something aviator-type. Posting here is my very first foray into the world of menswear, so any advice at all would be appreciated.

A little more about me: I play tennis and squash, play the piano, keys, guitar, and tin whistle, and collect records.

Hi, I'm Brad, from Jacksonville, FL. Longtime lurker here, for several years. Researching and following all the insight on these threads has helped me develop my style. I finally decided to join myself and participate in the community. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Hello everyone!

I'm Justin. I'm 35, live in Milwaukee (the greatest city on the planet), and am more or less a newbie to fashion stuff.

I spend a lot of time listening to music and reading. I also live around the grill any time the sun is out and the weather is warm, making delicious cooked foodstuffs for my friends and loved ones with a cold beer in my hand. I drink a lot of craft and German beers, and love to try new stuff. I've also been easing my way into whiskeys, and have found quite a few that I like.

I work at Frieschskys, and as we develop more familiarity with the site and the user base, we are considering becoming an affiliate here. I do quite a bit of social media engagement and customer service, as well as sales.

As far as fashion things go, I'm developing an interest in dress shoes, but don't own a lot yet. I tend towards the more classic stuff, but streetwear and denim are slowly becoming more interesting to me.

Welcome Justin!

Honestly I never knew Frieschskys existed (and I am in the area)  You'll find a whole lot of knowledge here for sure.  Hope to see you around.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

We're definitely hoping to use this place as a resource to grow our own knowledge of trends and fashion, as well as just plain old engaging with a community of people interested in the same things. And who knows, maybe we'll know something ya'll don't.

I expect there will be a couple of us from Frieschskys popping up in the coming weeks as we get to know the place, so keep an eye out!
