I'm J Brian, I live Portland Oregon, but work overseas 80 percent of the time. No kids early 30's and married. I am into classic styles, stuff that will be fashionable 2 decades from now, try to avoid most trends. Trying to update my suits, blazers, sweaters and shoes right now. I do a ton of outdoor activities so if you have any questions on outdoor gear, or apparel feel free to ask.

Hi All,

New here. Also from Portland, OR (I somebody from yesterday is as well). Coming to this late as I'm 50, but really need to get educated and get some help. Used to have to suit up for work, which was fairly easy. Last 15 years of so have been casual and it's turned into a disaster. Last week my wife said "enough - you have to start dressing better." And she's right. Not as easy (for me) to dress well casually.

Here to read and learn. Will ask for some advice. Going to the Allen Edmonds thread first for some advice. Then onward.

Greetings from Charlotte, NC (actually Waxhaw, but no one's heard of that).  My job generally dictates the wearing of a suit most days but I occasionally mix in the odd jacket/trouser combo because it's more fun to me.  I sort of reinvented my wardrobe this year after really getting a better sense of what fits and looks good versus what does not.  I'm particularly interested in learning to better match shirts/ties with jackets as I admittedly struggle in this area.  Of all the various articles of menswear I love shoes the most and have spent tons of time lurking in the Skoak thread, the Carmina thread, and the Bonafe thread.  Now I decided to become legitimate. :)

Hello there....(Second post - please give your feedback on my first post under wedding fashion today)

I'm hoping to bounce some ideas off of everyone, while giving my perspective on your ideas and style. I've always been a risk taker when it comes to style, luckily it seems to work for me. I'm super open, so if you have a question, ask and I'll answer.

I have excessively read this site for about 3 years and I finally decided to post!

I'm interested in classic men's wear.

Hi all, I'm Alfonso and live in Peru. Interested mostly in quality footwear and jeans. Not much of a scene for this stuff here in Peru so I'm here to check on new releases, interesting variations of casual/business casual/workwear (I work in a mining/industrial setting) and GMTOs. Also, I'm looking for quality discussion on brands, trends and style in general. At the moment, I own too many jeans, like to bike a lot and am considering moving out to a better place.

I joined, with interest in Streetwear and Denim.  The more mature streetwear, is what I am into.  Looking forward to reading and learning more from you guys.

Hello everyone!

I've been an admirer of the forum since 2010, when I really got into men's style.  It's a testament to the forum that, on all the occasions I've either felt like contributing, or have wanted to ask a question, it's always been covered by the time I get here!

I love everything about men's style (my particular passion being pocket squares, which I started designing and hand-sewing back at university) so I'm quite looking forward to engaging with a community of like-minded people!

Anyway, that's me introduced as prompted by the admins - I'll catch you all in due course!

Yours,

JQ

Hi all,

Just started taking dressing well a bit more seriously and found this forum.  I'm based in Honolulu, HI, so its a bit harder to dress formally as its already very informal. To acerbate things, I'm in the marine sciences, so my field is a pretty dressed down. Nonetheless, I  travel back to the East coast and West coast quite often.    Since I give lots of talks, attend a variety of symposia, and interface with funders, my wardrobe is a bit bi-polar - composed mostly of field clothes, nasty fishing gear, office clothes, and some business appropriate attire.  I'm hoping to learn bit more about men's style and have it reflected in what I wear when I'm out giving talks.

Much Aloha,

JW
