Hi,

I too am a long time reader of SF. Having recently changed jobs and there being no dress code I am at a little bit of a loss as to what I should wear.

I am 31 and from the South of the UK.

Note for point 1: yes you're right. You don't wear jeans to a funeral. You can wear them in an office though for example
Thanks Cava, I was a "jeans and tshirt" guy for 30 years, I finally bundled them all together and donated them. I wish I'd done it years ago. For me, jeans send a wrong message, either "I'm lazy" or "I'm not ready to be a grown up". Same with sneakers. But that's just my opinion.

You're making a lot of sense with the 'not ready to be a grow up' part. I'm having mixed feeling with jeans. I mean and don't get me wrong on this one, but our Director(owner of company with 100+ employees) wears jeans daily (with his business shirt tucked in). He gets away with it.

But again, I agree with you on point 1. I'm just not sure when you CAN or can not wear jeans..

P.s. I wear jeans and it makes me feel fresh, quick and sporty (I'm 24)

This should give you an idea. I don't wear the default color jeans, never.

I do also wear this sometimes

I can understand why younger guys (I'm 44) wear them, it's trendy and "cool". They probably consider wool dress trousers or full suits to be too old fashioned or what old guys wear.

Two quotes that have always stuck with me over the years-
"Never be afraid to be the best dressed man in the room." and "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have."

Let's face it, "everybody" wears jeans but do you really want to be like everybody?

Try being jeans free for a week and see how you like it.

Hi, I'm Kevin.

Found out about SF by saying I hate the Reddit MFA thingi, because it's the same every single week and I got bored, people then refer me to this. I obviously have great interest in fashion, I enjoy it on other people, on myself, but I have a long road to go. No actual style right now, but if anything I would define it as desperately trying to look different, but still good if anything. I'm not sure whether that's good or not, but I will stick with it for a little.

I'm Nic,

I decided to join this site because high quality clothing is one of my few interests and I would like to keep learning about it and getting to know others that share the same interests. Never really been a part of a forum board before so this'll be different for me.

Hello SF community,

My name is Steve.  After about 9 years of being in the jewelery production business I decided it was time for a change and pursue and build a career around a passion of mine:  FOOTWEAR!

After a year and a half of development, I launched my brand (A.Posse) late last year.  I had 3 separate friends who told me I should check out this site and tap into it's community and get feedback and advice.  So here I am.

As for a little more about me personally.  I grew up in the NYC area so I have been exposed to many different styles and brands through the years.  When I was younger I would adore my Polos, Tommy Hilfigures, Northface, Jordans and Triple 5 Souls.  These days, I still have a spot in my heart for main street labels but I find myself buying from more up and coming labels and brands.

Personally I believe function should take precedence before style.  The fun thing I find is putting these 2 worlds together.  Layering it up in the winter for warmth yet still look fly and at ease.  And In the summer dressing down as much as possible without looking like you are going to the beach.

I look forward to interacting with everyone.
