Quintessential 1960s style on film

Recently, on one of the cable channels, I saw the 1963 movie production of Neil Simon's "Come Blow Your Horn" starring Frank Sinatra, Lee J Cobb, Molly Picon, and a very young Tony Billl. The plot and dialogue are, of course, classic Neil Simon but the lifestyle and clothes capture perfectly the sophistication and easy going mindset of the early 60s. Appropriately, the film is in black and white I had forgotten what a wonderful movie this is.

What about the Avengers TV series? Patrick Macnee, Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman. The way Steed and Emma Dressed. Who could get away with that today?

Along the same lines as clarinet player, I greatly enjoy the style and cool of "Young Man with a Horn." While it was made in 1950, I think of it more as a 60's film.

There is a party sequence that captures a way of American entertaining that seems nearly lost.

I've seen that a couple of times and I always liked the closet scene. Sinatra has this huge island cabinet/dresser in his closet with drawers that go all the way through. I've seen it in color, though, so you might want to check into renting it.

Peter Sellers' The Party. Fantastic. The house rivals this for modern elegance and silly but cool gimmicks.

I want to revive this thread. A few other movies and shows come to mind: The Apartment, The Saint, The Prisoner, Le Samourai, and Ocean's Eleven. Are there any others I'm missing?

The Italian Job. 60s, but you can wear anything in that film today and not appear retro.

Bedazzled is nice too. A great comedy as well, unlike the remake.
