Deer acting strangely

So this 8 point buck has been standing on the steps to my deck now for about 11 hours, looking at the house. This is like something out of Hitchcock. I have never seen a deer act this way. I finally called the cops to come take a look, maybe they have an animal control officer or something. What really creeps me out is this deer is not afraid of people at all, he is just standing there staring at us. Has anyone ever seen a deer act so strangely like this?

stu, man, get a baseball bat and have yourself some venison. an opportunity like this doesnt' come along very often.

You called the cops because a deer was staring at you? Seriously?

You are an embarrassment to all of humanity. I hope the cops show up, laugh at you, and then charge you for wasting their time.

Nah man this deer is seriously giving me the creeps. He's just standing there freaking staring in the window at us. I think he is batshit crazy and don't wish to tangle with him. This is kind of like a cross between Cujo and The Birds.

Animal control cops. Do you have kids? Would you like it if a potentially rabid deer was standing in front of the front door?

I saw something white around his mouth, looked like foam. That plus the fact that he is acting so strangely makes me think he is not right at all, be it rabies or some other sickness. The cops are going to put him down if they think he is sick, and drag him to the end of the road, paint him.

Cop came by and shot him. Said he'd never seen a buck acting like that before, He got within a few feet and was throwing things at him, yelling trying to scare him and the deer just sat there and looked at him, Finally the cop shot him with his pistol and he ran off in the woods to die and stink up the area while I go on vacation next week.

Do you realize that if the deer did have rabies it is entirely possible you're going to go on vacation and then return to an entire yard full of rabid skunks and raccoons?
