Thinking ahead to the autumn and winter, I was toying with the idea of just throwing a party and inviting everyone so I at least get some face time with people rather than chipping away at the rolodex with lunches/dinners here & there. It's near the end of summer and I realized I haven't even made it through one quarter of my social network list (not Facebook) due to spending five of seven days out on the road.

Is it more effective to just have one big party for those in the professional network, or school network or all mixed up together or to keep chipping away at the list?

Of course I lose out on going out to eat at a bunch of different places but I'm thinking maybe it's even more economical to book a place and do one bash? I'm thinking of the types of people with whom I meet up once a quarter or even once a year.
