Any One for a Scotch? - Page 179

How many bottles do you have in total?

Picked up a Macallan 15 on a whim, it's pretty good. Should have an oban 18 soonish and I'm haunting Master of malt in search of a single cask Longmorn.

K&L has one arriving soon, but shipping would be an issue.

I think I might grab the 8 yo Hazelburn over the weekend. If I do I will let you know what I think.

Thanks for posting this

What's Scottish and distilled but not Scotch...

Well, grain whisky for one thing.

Or a tactical nuclear penguin.

Only looks slightly different from the sink the Bismarck I've got. That said, is making an eisbock technically distilling?

Is this worth picking up? I have access to it (the Centenary). I'd probably just pick up to trade if it has any trade value (looking for Bourbons/Ryes)

Are there any particular Arran bottlings that you have stuck out above others?

^ Oban 18 year is great. Finally finished the last dram in my prior bottle once I bought the new one.

So I cracked open the Auchentoshan 18 from the early 80's with my dad....after we tasted a modern Auch 12 year old....was GREAT! I've always subscribed to the fact that whiskey doesn't age in the bottle, but this had such a similar mouthfeel to the 80's bourbons I've had that I'm starting to turn...unless the style 30 years ago (or 50 years ago, when it was distilled) were just THAT different. Very unique body on them.
