As a whiskey rookie continuing down the rabbit hole. I hear this is a staple distillery, with a good reputation;

Cheers everyone...

It is, and the 15 and 18 yr old expressions are the sweet spot in the line up. Enjoy!

Lots of vanilla on the front end. Very mild smoke.

Not messing around there. Is it worth the significant tariff?

Tariff? I'm not actually sure what the import tax was on this, but I don't think it was much more than VAT in the UK.

Sorry - antiquated slang for price. It's an expensive bottle if I'm not mistaken.

Haha sorry. I suppose I should have been able to figure that out. Yeah it was expensive. I don't know that I can answer whether or not it was worth it. I enjoyed it. I don't drink much so it'll last for a bit.

Tried the 85/27 tonight.

Smokier than the 85/25. Lighter color. I enjoyed it.

Thought I'd post this here. A good friend and fellow big fan of Sinatra sent me this Christmas gift. He'll be in town this week so we can crack it open. I'm really looking forward to it.

Bunnahabhain 25 is quite nice!

Picked up a Tullibardine sherry cask, this could be the quintessential Christmas whisky, it's very sweet.

PSA - a place in Brooklyn called BQE is advertising Lagavulin 16 for $58. Don't know anything about the shop, but I seem to recall a number of you bemoaning the $75+ price of this bottle a little while ago.

Christmas Day always start with a tot, what to choose

Merry Christmas everyone, Happy holidays.

Got a bottle of Lagavulin 16 under the tree from the same people who gave me the fancy whisky Advent calendar.  Pretty great, and it'll let me shove my Lagavulin Pedro Ximenez to the back of the cabinet for some safe-keeping.
