As a general comment, most of the questions in this thread have been asked many, many times before. It wouldn't hurt people to read 10 - 15 pages before asking what compares to JW Blue, Glenlivet 15, Balvenie 12, etc. for the 5000th time.

On that note, I just poured some Talisker 25. Is good.

I think you would enjoy the Douglas Lainig 'Old Malt Cask' edition of Royal Lochnagar. Also hard to find, but incredible.

Saw some variant of mortlach cask at a restaurant yesterday and ordered based on this above. It was excellent, now I need to remember the exact one.

Thanks huntsman.

Thanks huntsman.

Green label on bottle with the word Cask on it? If so, Gordon & McPhail.

I think this was the bottle you are a genius. What is your expert opinion on this?

Huge fan for the price. I bought one, tried it, then bought three more.

Cool! Mortlach is pretty singular, they have a richness I rarely otherwise encounter.

Well, I answered. Since he likes Blue I still think the HP 18 would be better. All, the same, I hope your friend enjoys it -- that's what matters.

The timing was bizarre, I would have never noticed it had it not been for your post. The intro, body, finish and profile were all great there was not one thing I didn't like about it. It was pretty damn smooth too compared to the highland 1991 signatory bottling I think it was my buddy had not to mention superior.

Presentation is nice for a gift; it does depend on the preferences of the recipient. I don't care what it looks like.
