the shearling, fit and appropriateness

So I just picked this up. Is the fit okay? It seems a little poofy all around...
Sleeves are also a little long, goes down to my knuckles.

Also, would I look like a douchebag or moron wearing this in Cali? I spend most of my time in Frisco, which means its usually between 65-75. in the winter its about 50.

Fit is a bit hard to assess when not zipped up and due to the way you are holding the camera. I like long sleeves so that isn't an issue for me.

I can't tell much from your pics but in concept that type of jacket can be really good. If the leather looks cheap and shitty in person, you have a cheap and shitty jacket. If the leather looks supple and mmmmmzzzz then you are okay. Shearlings are having their moment right now. Would probably work in SF a few months of the year

Was this pic immediately before or after taking a piss? Your fly is open.

its this one http://us.burberry.com/store/menswear/london/jackets/prod-10000019927-shearling-collar-sheepskin-jacket/sku-37609411001/

I'm just worried I'll look out of place in Cali with that big thing on I guess or if i should have gotten one size down. the guy at the store didnt recommend getting the 36. the jacket in the picture seems much more slimmer fitting...

If you sized down wouldn't it be too short on you?

The stock pic helps. Looks like a nice jacket; should be for that money. Post a pic using a timer so you can have your arms at your sides, and do one pic zipped up.

edit: just saw your new pic. Any shearling-lined jacket is going to fit a bit fuller than an unlined jacket. Left arm looks oddly puffier than right arm. I dont' think sizing down is a good idea.

I think the fit is good. If you sized down you'll look like a sausage.

Yeah, I guess it would be too short, thats probably why the guy at the store did not recommend any smaller. I think the arm thing is just the way I was standing.

Arms on shearling are supposed to be wide and mostly straight IMO.

What's up with the sleeve lengths? Right arm looks good but left is too long.

Also, that jacket is probably overkill in SF.

I live in SF too.

Where would you wear that?

During the day, too hot for it. It never gets 50 during the day, even at 50...wouldn't wear it.

At night, you will look ridiculous if you don't take it off the second you arrive at your destination.

Unfortunately I think you're right...

Only if you live somewhere that snows in Winter. Forget shearling, a full length coat looks odd in California.
