Anyone have any idea what are the best books to practise for these kind of numerical (and verbal) reasoning tests? Anyone with previous experience with this stuff? Would need a concise book with good tips on how to approach them with plenty of relevant practice questions so that I can grasp the approach better and be able to do them quickly.

i recently had to sit for an online numerical and verbal reasoning test for a job I had applied for. I used a website called www.assessmentday.co.uk They provide more than a dozen timed online practise exams and answers. The numerical reasoning questions both on this site and on exam day provided either a table with data or a graph or both and then asked you to read off the data and make a calculation that would either relate to % change, min/max or other type related to business. I found the best way to prepare wa to just do these times online exams until you got the hang of things. If you know the company that provides the exam go their webpage as they are likely to have example questions.

The literacy reasoning is basically read some text and then answer whether a given inference can be made based soley on the information provided.

I think the logic game sections of LSAT training books would be helpful. The Powerscore series is particularly good.
