There were some of those blacked out RamAir WS6 Firebirds in northern Atlanta when I was living there. They alway parked in the middle of the unlit highway areas. Even their rims were black, IIRC. Those fuckers! But then again, they got nothing on the V1.

Accept LIDAR...

I heard the Atlanta PD was trained on this for a while, but apparently it proved to be not very popular. They require a shorter range, and direct line of sight to work well. They're also more expensive and harder to train on than conventional radar. I haven't been back to Atlanta for a couple of years, so I don't know if they're still being used. When I was there, there was probably a 5% chance of getting hit with that versus conventional radar whenever I drove through the downtown highway area.

Saw an insane number of cars pulled over on the freeway last night. Seemed to be a car pulled over every mile or so for ten miles. Saw a car pulled over by a Corvette police car.
