Just a few photos of recent work for people.
First of a Lined and Raised thats a commission for a customer using a very interesting green/black vegetable tanned leather. It changes colour depending on the light, sometimes showing green highlights sometimes quite black. It has a captive running loop to prevent the keeper getting lost.

=D

that looks splendid charlie!
i look forward to receiving it

and lastly a picture of the hallmarks of a sterling silver West End, I don't think I've posted one before. The hallmark is on the top face of the buckle as you look down on the buckle as you wear it.

that's a come up :slayer:

Just received my russet and aus. nut belts. Very nice. As a poster mentioned previously, probably nicer than anything most of us previously owned (I can certainly say that in my own case).

The russet is intended as a jeans belt, but I'm kind of hesitant to get it stained straight away! Perhaps I'll start it off on my chinos or Roy duck pants.

Thanks again, Charlie.

The belts look great, but I'm posting to rave about the dog collars and leads. The same craftsmanship, attention to detail, and willingness to work with special requests result in the best dog gear I've seen.

Ordered a rolled leather collar and perfect length lead - both in Australian nut with brass hardware - earlier in the summer and have been very pleased with them. In fact, just ordered a second set in green.

Charlie - speaking of the green leather - I noticed that sometimes it was referred to as bottle green and, more recently, British racing green. Was there a change in the leather or just a change in the name?

Hi Charlie, Do you deduct VAT when shipping to the US? Approximately what percentage of the price is VAT?

Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated. We do try to not have a range thats better or worse than anything else we make - we make everything to the same standard, just some things take more time or have more expensive ingredients than others.

Regarding the green, its just the same it always have been, I just changed the name. I've always loved British Racing Green in its automotive context (classic British racing cars like Jaguar, Aston Martin, Lotus etc have worn British Racing Green for many years for those not into these things) and given the leather is pretty much exactly that colour it just struck me it should always have been called and I had no idea why I hadn't called it that in the first place so I rechristened it.

Yes we do and 20% respectively!

As soon as the website knows that you are outside Europe it will deduct the VAT automatically. For new customers that will be after you have created a user account when you go to checkout, for existing customers when you sign in. We're very happy to help if you have any problems with anything on the website, just let me know.

My Englsih Tan just arrived. Fast delivery/postage. Wonderful belt and I have some nice ones from RM Williams to compare. Next time frankly I would like a belt a little wider but the finish and colour are wonderful. Now to decide my next colour....

Hi Meister,

Really glad you like the belt! We have a lot of widths available so I'm sure we can make one just as you want it. Take a look at the West End and the Roller Buckle belts in particular if you want very wide - they have 1 3/4" and 2" options and the majority of the belts come in widths up to 1 1/2".

Let me know if I can help!

Would the laced bridle leather belt be a good choice for jeans? I think a West End might be a bit plain for casual outfits.

Hi Liquidus,

Yes, definitely if you like that style. Its quite unusual and I like the texture and interest the lacing adds to the design. If you feel the standard belts are a little too plain then certainly the laced belt will be a bit more of a "feature" if you see what I mean...

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't posted much of interest for a little - we've been moving premises which is a nightmare to say the least! Anyway, we're catching back up and some sanity is returning...

Quick photo below to illustrate satin finishing. Quite a few people have asked for a non shiny finish so we've made satin finishing an option for nearly all the buckles. The photo isn't great but as a finish it works nicely - visually it really softens and warms the look of the buckles, more so when on a belt than off. Interestingly the buckles feel different too - hard to describe but peach skin like. The buckle on the left is our standard hand polished finish, the one on the left is (obviously) the satin finished version. Comments or thoughts on other finishes people would like to see are welcome!

Brilliant. Makes me want to get more belts with the satin buckles in colours I already owned.

Feel free ;-)

To be serious though, its not impossible to refinish existing buckles. The effect won't be quite as nice as if it was done from new - we have to work around the strap and the buckle actually has to be in better condition for satining than polishing as it shows up flaws. All that aside its possible and and part of the aftercare we can provide.
