And the interesting thing is each variant of the Bakers lather has a different smell. Their Australian Nut smells so nice I once tried to make a car air freshner so you got the smell of good leather rather than just chrome tanning chemicals and plastic you get in modern cars. Sadly it didnt really work, you'd need a great big bit!

For the uninitiated the reason the Bakers leathers smell more strongly of leather is they are tanned using very old fashion techniques - very good photo essay here. Modern leather made using more industrial techniques just doesnt have quite the same smell.

Excellent selection of belts by the way.

Sorry, the 13% one has gone, but the StyleForum10% coupon is still around. Quite likely we'll do another higher value one shortly though :-)

In my opinion 1 1/2" in whatever takes your fancy. I know the Russet is popular with the raw denim fans so maybe that? If you want a more finished look the Scott will do anything you want it to really and is satisyingly chunky, the Oak Brown is eye catching and pretty or the Sedgwick leathers are versatile enough to go with chinos as well if you want multipurpose. For me it would be the Scott I think

Couple of L&R pics we've just taken - I haven't posted any for a little while. This is an 1 1/2" bridle leather Lined and Raised in Sedgwick Australian Nut hand sewn with Natural colour Lin Cable stitched at 8SPI

Thank you :-)

Theres actually a couple of them in the clearance section for the first time ever - good time to get one at a good price if they'd fit - you could look on it as an investment in the long term future of your wardrobe ;-)

Yeah, I commented on those when Dawn put them up. It would be a very long term investment cos I'd have to lose 2 stone to wear them! biggrin.gif

Interesting. I'm going to be bold and propose an option for you Charlie. Pm me with that code for additional discount and I will contemplate buying those L&R seeing as they very well could be my size. (±85-90cm).

I was wondering which belts you'd recommend for business casual attire.  Looking for a brown / black belt for office life.  Just ordered 2 belts from you that I would consider more casual, so looking for input.  Also brass or no brass for work attire?

finally got my belts a couple days ago and they are quality belts. i ended up with a scott belt from the clearance section and also had a custom made oak brown bakers with 5 holes space 3/4" apart. I was originally hesitant that it might look weird, but i like it and think its more functional. i would say that the difference in color is not as pronounced as the pictures on the website, if I had to do it over again I think i would get one in australian nut or burgundy. guess i'll just have to start saving up for another one :)

Hi Kent,

Id have thought a 1 1/4" West End in Black or Dark Havanna would be ideal. I personally think brass is more casual, though thats personal preference really, so would recommend the nickel or stainless steel depending on the colour your looking for in the metalwork.

Don't know if that helps?

Hi All,

We're gradually recovering from the Christmas rush here, all the belts that should be on the way to people for Christmas left us before the last posting dates - took quite a lot of work but got there in the end!

We've just put our Ready to Wear West End on sale with a 20% discount, and there are a few nice belts (including one Lined and Raised!) left in the Clearance section at good prices - the website is upto date with stock so the belts are available to post straightaway for a nice New Year treat :-)

I plan to get our formal Calf Lined and Raised in the website over the holidays if I can, so watch this space. I also need to do the same with or Gold Barenia belt

We'll be around over the holidays but Happy Christmas to everyone and thank you to all our customers for a great year, we very much appreciate your custom and support
