The raised and lined are things of wonder!
Wish they were in my price range!

:) Im glad people like them. I make each one, they are somewhat of a labour of love. As I said above we exist to make things the way they should be made and the L&R is a reaction to the numerous rather rubbish belts about made of pleather and stitched together that have a deservedly rubbish reputation for falling to bits. I wanted to take that and see if we could make something lovely that wont fall to bits, the L&R is the end result after many iterations and many many hours of work over the last few years. Im quite sure an accountant would tell us to drop them as the labour is much to much for the profit they make, thats not the point though, we make them because they are lovely.

Quick heads up - we are having a one day only sale (today - 30th June) with 10% off our most popular belt, The West End. Available in all the Sedgwick colours, with Stainless Steel, Solid Brass and Solid Nickel buckles in a variety of widths, it's a good opportunity for those to dip their toes in to owning one of our belts and for those that already have done, to extend their collection.

Of course, the 10% style forum discount code will also work on top of the discount too, 'STYLEFORUM10%'.

Buy belts from this man. I will be placing my order tonight when I get home from work. New navy for sure

:) Thank you!

Looks like we're having some problems with the website and Safari, not quite sure why atm but we're investigating. Chrome and Firefox both seem fine though so if you're having problems they will likely solve it for you as an interim measure

Was curious to see if anyone here owns a Sedgwick belt in hazel and also owns a pair of Allen Edmonds in walnut.

Is the pricing over? I am trying to place in the cart but I can only apply the 10% SF code and not the West end code.

It was a one day only sale so the price expired at midnight UK time. Given the website had a problem during some of it though it only seems fair to give everyone a little longer so Ive just extended it to midnight tonight BST

Hope that helps :)

I can't seem to get it to accept both discounts. It will accept either individually but can't get it to take both. How do you get it to take both?

Hi John,

Our coupons are mutually exclusive, you cant use more than one coupon at a time. What you can do though is use a coupon with an already discounted product, so the 10% discount on the West End can have the 10% style forum coupon applied as well. The shopping cart should deal with this all for you in theory, feel free to give us a ring/drop an email etc if you get stuck though

I hope that helps,

Charlie

I do, although not in front of me. I recall the hazel being slightly darker, although the walnut got very close after a coat of neutral polish. More than close enough to wear together.

I have a hazel belt and walnut strands. The hazel has more red to it. I actually bought it to wear with my McTavish but it's not dark enough. REALLY tough to try and darken bridle leather. In any event, while the hazel is a nice color it isn't quite a match for the walnut. All depends on how closely you want a match.

I actually found it reasonable to darken. Try Obenauf's HDLP.

Darkening bridle with a wax based product is really hard, it already has so much wax stuffed in to it the colour doesnt stitck. As above though oil based products will sink in and will darken, though the effect is difficult to control so you need to be a bit brave or experiment first. We sell the Saphir Neetsfoot which I like a lot. My dogs (being spoilt) have a matched pair of Bakers London Tan slip leads that I oiled using it the other day and are now a lovely rich mid - dark brown, basically Australian Nut.

The Sedgwick Leathercare will also darken lighter leathers a little, though nothing like as much as the oil based products

If anyone is keen to experiment and doesnt want to potentially sacrifice a belt we can send offcuts with purchases without a problem. We already do this by default with the Russet belts for exactly this reason.

On the flip side, Saphir Renovature seems to not change colours at all for those trying to keep the original colour and is also an excellent rejuvenator for un looked after leather.

All of the above products are in our leather care section if your having problems sourcing them locally
