I have the silver Mayfair and it is great (not sure which of the firms was used). My other two belts are West End buckles (nickel and brass roller). I might try the silver West End next as that buckle has a beautiful shape and would be suitable for even a sturdier belt than the rusticalf I used with the Mayfair.
Glad you like it! Your buckle was from the last firm from memory. Their output was fine and the buckles really should be interchangable, it was their timeliness that was their biggest problem! I hate not being able to give reasonably accurate ETAs to people. Good is better than quick, but on time is important too! We've taken the opportunity to have our master moulds remade to get both the buckles to a true 1 1/4" rather than a tiny bit less and tweaked the odd detail of the pattern, but they are tiny things that really aren't noticeable to anyone other then me and my OCD I suspect!
The West End does have a bit more substance and is strictly a harness buckle, so its very much at home on a Bridle leather strap, probably even more so than the Mayfair. It could be used on a Rusticalf strap as well, we can make the strap a bit heavier to balance it by increasing the thickness of the inside layer to create a weightier feeling strap.
These are the belts in question - the photos dont do them justice and need to be retaken!
