Glad you like it! Your buckle was from the last firm from memory. Their output was fine and the buckles really should be interchangable, it was their timeliness that was their biggest problem! I hate not being able to give reasonably accurate ETAs to people. Good is better than quick, but on time is important too! We've taken the opportunity to have our master moulds remade to get both the buckles to a true 1 1/4" rather than a tiny bit less and tweaked the odd detail of the pattern, but they are tiny things that really aren't noticeable to anyone other then me and my OCD I suspect!

The West End does have a bit more substance and is strictly a harness buckle, so its very much at home on a Bridle leather strap, probably even more so than the Mayfair. It could be used on a Rusticalf strap as well, we can make the strap a bit heavier to balance it by increasing the thickness of the inside layer to create a weightier feeling strap.

These are the belts in question - the photos dont do them justice and need to be retaken!

You can see and feel when though, if the leather has lost its glow, it looks dry, rough, scaly, anything that in skin would suggest dry skin suggests dry leather. There isnt really a right answer, other than dont over do it too much, saturated leather is nearly worse than dry leather.

Does that help in the slightest?

Charlie

Thanks Charlie, I understand what you are saying, and is helpful.

Just added the 2 new Alligator skins to the Alligator Watch Strap which is available to buy now.

We now have the following:
  • Black with a silk finish
  • Chocolate with a silk finish

I know I already asked you on the instagram comments but I was wondering if you had a more concrete timeline.

Yes, ready to go really! Sorry for the lack of updates, Christmas is nose to the grindstone for us so no time for more fun things!

The design of the first of the three wallets in this family (Minimal, Card Case and Billfold) are done and ready for production with Coat and Farmers still to do. The Billfold, the one whose photo you posted, is only waiting for some photographic samples to be made and it'll be ready to go on the website. The photo shown is in Gold goatskin, we will also have British Racing Green, Muscade and Rust, all Grade 1 Aniline Veg tanned goatskin for it. Linings and outers can be different colours and thread can be chosen as usual, though I do plan to stock some in a couple of combinations when we have a chance. As well as all goatskin we have a variety of exotic and non exotic leathers for the outer, from Bridle to Barenia, Barenil, Rusticalf, Ostrich and Alligator

The Billfold itself is design to just fit a UK £50 hight wise so should fit most other currencies and we've designed it such that we can make custom heights if we need to. It has 6 card slots, two concealed pockets behind the card slots. Every stitch is saddle stitched by hand, and all the compartments are fully lined with leather, there is no fabric in them at all. I intend these to last a very long time and to age gracefully, hence our choice of materials. Prices start from £300 (+ VAT) for the Goatskin version

I'll get photos up as soon as I can, before Christmas if possible but probably next year. Very happy to take preorders from anyone on the meantime though!

I hope that helps!

Hi All,

Sorry for the silence, we have been rushed of our feet making presents!

In the mean time here are a couple of photos of recent stuff. Both are custom variations of our Lloyd card case, one in Goatskin and the other modified to have a moulded slot for business cards in Brandy saddle finish Ostrich
