I'm not sure whether it would be the aesthetic you want to maintain bit what about a double prong buckle for a 1.5" or wider belt?

Not sure if Ive posted this chap before, seems appropriate though - I'll see your windswept grouse and raise you a leopard!

Will you make belts with that leopard?

With pleasure. The buckle came from Patrick Mavros in London and was sourced by a customer though we could happily do that. They aren't cheap but are rather lovely and are as well made (as you'd expect given the price). The leopard is here - I rather liked him, if they made a Cheetah buckle I would have one for myself just for fun.

We actually already do. The Garrison and the Sam Browne are both double tounge 1 1/2" belts. We made a double tounge Kensington the other day in 1 1/2" as well and that worked really well so we may well add that to the product line. Most of the single tounge buckles have a groove for the tounge to sit in so they aren't as amenable to double tounge versions though

This is perhaps the daddy of all double tounge belts - full military spec custom 2 1/4" Sam Browne in Australian Nut fully hand stitched in yellow Lin Cable that we finished last week - slightly rubbish iPhone photo though Im afraid.

^ Totally forgot about those. :embar: I was thinking of something like the West End or Fillis but dual pronged.

Have you ever considered ring belts? It might not be your thing, I guess.

Double tonged West End would certainly be nice. I'll put my thinking cap on, that style of buckle tends to have a tounge groove as part of the design which means they can't be converted from one to two tounges without looking odd. Leave it with me and I shape see if I can find something nice that will work..

We've made them before but don't have them on the website. I don't haven't a problem with them aesthetically, though I do think the rings can wear the leather quite badly. I think the suede might work well with them.

Thanks for the thoughts all

My latest Equus belt arrived last week...safe, sound and wonderfully packaged as usual. I added the Scott Oak Bark belt this time around and it exceeds expectations once again. I've grown quite fond of the 1 3/8" width and brass buckle. This is certainly more rugged and casual than the West End bridle belts I own and works best with my casual attire. The brown mates well with most of my footwear rotation including AE dark brown shell cordovan, C&J scotch grain brown calf (Islay boot), Alden cigar shell and Alden brown CXL.

Next to my burgundy West End bridle belt:

And a family shot:
L-R:
1 1/4" Australian Nut West End, SS buckle
1 3/8" Scott Oak Bark, brass
1 3/8" Burgundy, brass
1 1/2" Russet Bakers Bridle, brass roller

For referrence, I posted this a while back to illustrate the versatility of Equus' burgundy West End bridle. It mates nicely with AE burgundy shell and Alden color 8 shell (the two in the middle below).

Thanks Charlie and Dawn. I truly enjoy wearing these wonderfully hand-crafted belts. I *think* I should be all set now (for a while at least)

:) Glad your enjoying them! Really interesting photos, thank you for posting them. Particularily interesting to see how nicely the Russet has aged, at first glance I thought it was London Tan. Charlie

Thanks Patrick :) In truth though the leather is what makes the photos, all we can do is try and do it justice and tell its story

It's been a while since we introduced a new buckle to our collection and I've been having a think about what shape/design we might have space for. Is there anything you think we are missing from our range that you'd like to see?

You need a more dressy/formal buckle.

I would suggest slimmer verison of West End. I think it would look gorgeous

Charlie-

I am sorry if this has already been asked, are you still doing the sterling buckles? I went to your site and could not seem to find them as I had before? Perhaps you could post a link?

Thanks,

R
