Yeah, I think it would actually be worse if all the groomsmen showed up with all different shades of green ties. If the bride wants everyone to match the colors, then you should all wear the same green tie. I think matching groomsmen usually looks pretty corny, but if everyone had a different shade of green tie that would look even worse.

I agree the bride should choose the neckties & pocket squares,if she wants them to match. Mixing it up is always good with a solid silk necktie & patterned pocket square that has the same color as the necktie. Not too matchy, matchy, if you know what I mean... Maybe something like these swatches from Molly Rodgers Formal Wear.

-1 on a few things. Groom should pick the suits/tux/etc. Bride can comment but the groom should pick. Guys don't pick the dresses do they?
And what's with shill for the site above^^??

I'm so happy my fiance didn't do this to me...she knew I would have flipped out if she tried to dress me in some crazy costume with bright ties, vests, or pocket squares. I wish these other guys were as lucky as me. I think she actually took my comments about her dress under consideration more than I did with her ideas for my outfit, haha.

I was referring to "she" or the "bride" in this post, since I'm assuming from previous posts she picked the color, I think I read the comments too fast. Ultimately the groom should pick what he's going to wear, it's his day too. As for the site, I'm a rep for them and thought I'd share some swatches for him to see.

plain green tie, with maybe a very subtle pattern, white linen PS TV fold and done. Everyone gets the same ties except the groom who gets one with a little more pizaz...

here's a basic idea, stick to black belt and shoes though...

Totally off-topic, but this thread reminds me of an exchange with*Mitch* and *Ira* and *Barry* in City Slickers?

Ira Shalowitz: Barry can pick out the exact right flavor of ice cream to follow any meal. Go ahead. Challenge him.
Mitch Robbins: Challenge him?
Barry Shalowitz: Go on.
Mitch Robbins: [shrugs] Franks and beans.
Barry Shalowitz: Scoop of chocolate, scoop of vanilla. Don't waste my time!

If you want good ideas for pocket squares and ties take a look at this thread on pocketsquares. Look for ideas that would be most in sync with the grooms ideas. That being said I think a white line pocket square for the groom and groomsmen always looks the best and it will go with any tie.

I'd greatly appreciate if someone can give me ideas/pics/links to images so I don't look like a goof :)

I'll be wearing a black suit.

Thanks!
