I like it. You might want to replace the buttons though.

As to the buttons, keep 'em. Nothing wrong with a leather button, they're a classic look on tweed. Yeah, it looks like something your grandpa might have worn. That's the entire point of classic style now, ain't it?

Go for it. Don't worry about how fashionable certain elements are, there's nothing too extreme about any proportion there, that coat will outlast any trend.

while I'm trying to develop an eye for details, can you further explain why you considered the pic ajd posted an eyesore? I can't seem to see the issue with the lapel, or is it the overall fit? Thanks.

if its cheap, go for it. looks like it will need some nip/tucking though to give it a better fit.

the lapel curves out in the middle instead of cut straight. kinda like a butter knife. i dont like it , but of course, your tastes should remain personally yours.

also the lapel is pressed very flat at the button, and the hacking pocket flap is too tall... patch pockets would look better

just my 2 centavos...but i wouldnt pay 125 for that.

There is nothing wrong with a bit of belly on a lapel. In fact, bellied lapels are less common on RTW as they are, obviously, slightly more difficult/expensive to cut. I think these are, maybe, just a bit wide but, hey, it's tweed, it's supposed to be a bit traditional/non-stylish. You very seldom see "hip" and "tweed" in the same sentence.

I'm not sure about the cut, though. From the picture, I can't see how much, if any, waist suppression there is. I really dislike tweed sacks because they look like, well, sacks. I think shaping makes a tweed jacket look much better. I'm also not sure about the quarters but you can't really tell as the lower button is buttoned in the picture.

I think the larger question is whether it makes sense to spend 125USD on a used tweed jacket (how can you even wear tweed in India??) that you don't know is going to fit.

I like the fabric and design of the tweed...However it doesn't look very fitting. I also don't think I would pay $125 for it, unless brand name signified quality (since you obviously can not feel it)

yeah, I thought we were talking about a $40-50 experiment here... $125? I'd probably pass at that price, but that's just me. I'd rather put the $100 towards a great new SC I loved but was a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay.
