I had one for awhile, but it got super annoying in the summer (washing it, tying it, the strands that come loose and poke your face) and I cut it all off.

^how long was your hair, I'm in the process of growing mine.. and it's in the awkward phase where everything looks weird.

shoulder length

i used to put a a slim black head band on that was somewhat invisible during my awkward phase. helped keep my hair tidy

It depends on the person. I bet it looks like shit on some people and great on others. There is no single style that looks good on everyone - except being physically fit.
