Any experience w/ Progressive or Erie Insurance? ...

Getting ready to switch from Allstate for home and auto, their rates continue to climb for us. I've gotten very favorable quotes, significant savings, from both Progressive and Erie Insurance.

I like the idea of Progressive as they're huge and have a large presence. I like the idea of Erie as they have an agent right in our town.

Soooo ...

Anyone have any really good or bad things to say about any of these agencies?

I just called Allstate and gave them an opportunity to match the rates, they should have a quote for me by EOD.

Thanks!
Chris

What is important to you in a policy? At some level, insurance companies are all pretty much the same, it's the coverage that counts. That said, I have found, and heard, that State Farm is a bit more accommodating on first party claims (i.e., where you make a claim for property damage). Oh, and max out the uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.

I used Erie for renter's insurance several years ago. Never had to file a claim, but I always found them to be very agreeable work with. I used Progressive for auto insurance up until I combined my policy with my wife. Progressive's website is very easy to use and their rates are great. From my experience, I think both are good reputable companies to work with.

I have my mercedes and 911 turbo insured by progressive and they have been very good. The premiums are quite frankly ridiculously low given the cars, the coverage, and the state.

My 911 got hit in my old apt parking garage, and they paid for new oem parts and a good bodyshop. The dildo that hit me denied it despite a lot of evidence. Progressive sued his ins. co, but lost due to stupid arbitration rules. my premium did not increase.

I'm pleased with them.
