I think this has been gone over quite a few times in the past month or so. There were plenty of ways to game the system in the past. If you allowed bumps for 'any % for that matter', no one but the big sellers with multi-item threads would have any items on page 1, ever.

Just want to drop by and say that after using Chrome and currently Firefox 6.0 (latest update), Styleforum runs super smooth.

Firefox seems to handle opening multiple tabs much better e.g. I can just multitask while browsing the forum in a breeze.

Chrome apparently started crashing...

There is still too much Javascript, and most of it is useless bullshit visual effects or other wasteful stuff. The only way SF is browsable from a phone or with several tabs of it open is to disable Javascript. Which means you can't reply.

can we have the 'new posts' button moved out onto the main bar please? maybe next to 'my posts' like before?

question... is it possible or desirable to have listings/B&S threads removed from the "new posts" results? I find when I click new posts, like a third of the page is B&S listings, which if I want to be buying I'll just go to that forum and search/sort...

PS - +1 to the mainpage showing the forums instead of my list of replied to threads


also, I still can't see any way to remove my sig from a post. I'd like a box to uncheck before hitting submit.

Why can't a search go to the specific post rather than the whole thread?

Sifting through WAYWRN III just to see one image is a bitch of a nightmare.

It's mind-boggling that an existing option, so simple and convenient, was removed.

FYI, I've gone from visiting this site several times a day to once every week, at best. Well done boys.

Thanks NOBD.

The search function is actually a lot more powerful than our old one. Most of the options are pretty intuitive as well. If you haven't figured something out, you might want to post in the technical questions thread, or just browse through it to find an answer. We are working on lots of things, but some things were not broken to begin with, just in a slightly different place.

iPhone browsing of SF is so slow that I have really cut back on that. Is there any solution being developed or is this just how it is going to be?

I am having no problems with Chrome or Safari on a Macbook. iPad browsing seems to be fine.

+1 its literally impossible to send a new PM, multi quote, or check likes. The "please wait" box bounces off the view of the screen and you can't get it to load.

Can I bitch about the avatar size again? Good, because I'm going to. 80x80 is too damn small. I can barely make out any of the worthwhile pics. There is a good 2-3 inches of empty blue space between the avatar border and the post window. Why can't that be used? Or shrunk so make the posts more left aligned. The only thing I can see clearly is the dumbass default forum pics and Spoo's dumbass medusa head thing. Or whatever the fuck that is supposed to be.

Also, now that we're all warm and snuggly with our Huddler overlords, can we work on getting some upgraded smilies? I thought that was going to come with the upgrade. For reference, check slickdeals.net. They've got some the same style smilies but with many many more options.

Can you put the Preview button back into PM's?

Also, what's the deal with youtube links not embedding all the time? Is that YouTube issue or an SF one?

The deal is that that Huddler Tapatalk interface sucks. The other deal is, it may be possible to ask them for some more core functions while a mobile platform percolates. Could you guys help us compile a list of "must haves" to make the thing workable? I don't use a Smartphone (it's more like, a "special" phone), but J does, and so does my wife, and I will bug them mercilessly as well.

The smilies may be doable. How many do we need? Infinity, I imagine.

The deal with the smaller avatar size is that we did that as part of the "whitespace take it away please" deal. Most people don't mind. Apparently, for you, it's a Satan sandwich. I'll talk and see what can be done without sacrificing "information density."

120 x 120 pixels might be a good compromise (in stead of 80 x 80):
