Constructive ideas on improving the forum - Page 33

one more, can we PLEASE make it so that the 'my posts' button actually does what the 'show posts' on my profile button does? ie instead of just threads i've ever posted in as they've been updated list, instead it's the list of my posts in chronological order? I don't understand the former... like I may have posted in a fashion thoughts thread 6 months ago, but if it's been updated by anyone today then it pops to the top of my list.

(oh yay, just did 6000 posts... do I get a prize?)

Any hope for an Android widget?

how different would it be to the mobile version of the site?

Either a bookmark directly to SF or an open window on my homescreen showing subscriptions/user cp/ a thread much like android messaging/email widgets would be so excellent. Tapatalk has a direct link widget but I prefer the mobile layout.

The new look is a step in the right direction, but the default is too washed-out looking. I can't see the dividing lines between ads in the BST area. You need to tweak the colors so that it doesn't look so washed out and so that division between on-screen elements is sharper. For example, on this page there needs to be slightly more contrast between the background color of the post itself and the border which surrounds it (the white area in which our screen names appear.).

The bar at the top seems way too large - actual thread content starts about halfway down the browser window when the page first loads.

I don't like that the option bar is so high up on the new design. And the text don't show that good even when you get a new message it doesn't show that good. Maybe something like this would be better? And some other text line/color.

Perhaps, the option bar could just remain at the top of the screen as you scroll, so it's always visibly like in the mobile application.

Yeah something like that would be good. And visible I don't like the text and color can't see it so good with almost the same background colour.

The colors are bland and washed out. No separation between the avatar/username area makes it uncomfortable to skim over a page because there is no well defined separation. I think a lot of the tall, skinny, cramped text used for user names, and the menu(Forums, Classic menswear, all under the SF logo) is ugly and rough on the eye.

The text shadow on thread titles looks like something from geocities.

I like the new design!

How do you get to the last unread post with the new forum design? The stickies are gone cry.gif.

+1. In your PM, the read vs new messages arent clear enough to tell which are which (ie the new messages arent bolded and background isnt dark enough to see the difference). Quite confusing ffffuuuu.gif

what the hell is going on here? I know I'm late to the game here as I've been out of town for the holidays but this new "design" is atrocious. It's bland, lacks contrast, is less convenient to navigate... why is it (as with almost all things) the new and improved version is inevitably worse than the previous? Apologies to those who put work into improving SF and trying to make it better and better, but this renovation is beyond terrible.
