Is it possible to have a search flag that only searches for posts that have text + images? ie: narrow down searches to posts that use the img tag or whatever.

On their site, it is really pretty useful--lets say you have a PSA thread. Somebody posts a deal in the thread "RL is having 40% off with this code"
A bunch of people post later and they add useful information like "Free shipping with this code" "omg works on darlton's!!" "these sizes are still in stock" etc.
The only way for a new reader to find that would be to read the whole thread--but the wiki post lets anyone take that info and compile it into a wiki post right after the OP where you can have a list of promo codes, list of the best items.
Then when the deal dies and the promos expire, you can edit it to say **DEAD** so you don't get those 3 month old threads that keep getting people excited until they make it to page 20 and realize that the deal is long gone.
Also works kind of nice to build a sort of after-the-fact thread index. e.g. in the Shoe Care thread you could link to the posts that describe the best method to get a mirror shine or take care of shell.

This. Slickdeals is the model that I was going off of. Love their wiki's.

This might be a good idea. I'll definitely look into it. I have to advise that it may not happen right away though. It sounds like a reasonably large engineering project.

I don't know if that's even in your parameters. FYI - this reason, and this reason alone, was why I was lobbying for vBulletin for the upgrade.

The new layout in general is great, but think switching out the mentioned above would be a great change.

The search thread function is just utterly useless. Will this / can this be changed? It's frustrating to have no way to refine a search within a thread and the results are so scattered that there's seemingly no rhyme or reason for why they appear in the order they do.

It's not possible right now, but we will work on that. Part of the issue was to protect the members from spammers, but we may be able to work something out. You can find anyone on the admin panel, of course.

VBulletin was an option that we dismissed. We just can't get the type of customization and support we'd have need. Plugins are great, for small forums, generally. On a very large forum, like Styleforum, inefficiencies in queries from plugins, which have little QA/QC and support, can propagate exponentially. These were the issues that we faced before.

We face a different challenge, which is structuring of priorities.

Please restore the WTB section of the forum. Makes it much easier for buyers to connect with sellers, and gives sellers a chance to scope out the market.

Can users we have on ignore have their posts blocked in the preview of threads as well? Like if they are the last person to post in a thread, you can see their shit. Kind of negates the whole purpose of an ignore list.

It would be incredibly useful if there was a "SHOW ALL IMAGES IN THREAD" option in searching threads...

so often there are massive thread that are 80% BS text and it takes forever to go through each page trying to find the actual images of suits. The rubinacci, napoli, and a&s expats thread would be perfect candidates.
