Also, if you are searching by category and you back nav. you get a screen for all items for a sec, then it "thinks" and brings up your category. Better than it was before but it would be nice if it was more seamless (this is more a tech. diff.problem).

Sorry to beat this horse, but sizing for items will make B&S about a million times more useful. Please do include width for shoes when this fix is made. Please.

The B&S archive has full size titles for all the sub-forums (SW&D, MC, ect.) while the active one is much smaller, I'd think you would want to make the archive the same format as the current B&S so it does not over power it in size. Also it takes up a lot of screen space for a dead sub-forum.

I'll add my voice to those that think the links to reviews and activity at the bottom of the page is a waste of space.

The changes to "my profile" more closely duplicate the old "my posts" and is a nice improvement but could it get it's own drop down menu in the top bar?

Thanks.

The reviews will hopefully be more useful soon. We are going to be "refilling" the feed with stuff that people actually buy.

Originally, we were going to lobby for a size field in B&S, but since most people wanted multiple item threads instead, that has really gone by the wayside. It's really one or the other, and the outcry against a one listing/one item system was so great that we just sort of dropped that idea for the time being.

Noted about the dead forums. I'll clean that up.

Cheers,

Fok.

Question about PM's. After you reply to a PM, it takes you back to the main "thread" of your PM. Instead of that, would it be possible to take you back to your main PM page? The way it is set up now adds an unnecessary click to take you back to see what PM's are unread or you have to reply to next. Its still early, if I am not explaining it right. Basically, after you click "send" on a PM, the screen should jump back to your inbox, not that thread of a PM that you just replied to.

When I open a thread with the first unread button the first unread post opens (just) above my FOV. No big thing, just a FYI.

thanks for adding the preview buttons!!!

suggestion - sometimes I have a LONG conversation string... is it possible add a small button that says 'hide' and I can click it for a bunch of back and forth messages within the conversation to reduce the scrolling?
also, would it make more sense to reverse the message order with newer replies towards to top?
I think I asked this before, is it possible to change the number of viewable messages on one page in the inbox? I have like 20 pages to try to sort through.

PROBLEM... let's say I'm sorting out my messages. if I click on a few ready to delete, then go into a message to check it's junk, when I hit back, the system doesn't save those clicked messages... so basically I have to delete one message at a time instead of diving in a message, going back and highlighting it, then the next message, etc and then clicking delete once to remove all those messages...

also, there's some sort of glitch where if if i delete a message, the refresh takes me back to page 1 of messages...

oh, PLEASE add the size field to the B&S. it would make things SO much easier to sort, like ebay. people can always choose N/A in a drop-down menu under size if it's a multiple listing

also, another glitch I found. I accidentally posted the same FS thread several times. I think the system automatically rejected the 2/3 but in my post history they still show up...

can't be bothered to read through this string to see if this topic has already been covered...actually, I assume it has.....but since the new site launched my visits have decreased dramatically. I'm a bit of a lurker but have purchased $000's of clothing in B&S. I really did love coming here but the load time of the new ads have chased me off. Completely understand the desire to monetize styleforum (I would do the same) but the execution is so poor that traffic will fall off and ultimately erode the value of the site....counterproductive! Your tech partners are incompetent. Find new ones.

Glitches:

1. in the option to link B&S to the sig, EVERY thread shows up as an option, even listings that have been closed. It's annoying because half my stuff has been sold so I have this long list to choose from and half of it's long gone.

2. On people's profiles, the "last visit date" is off... example, mine says I was here 5 days ago but I'm on every day...

Currently, it is impossible to actually select a color from the color palette icon above the text box for making a new post. Clicking it just creates brackets with a default hex code but no drop down menu. I am sure this is a relatively easy fix. Thanks.

I clicked the Go to first new post link with the shown result.

Again, no big thing. Just an example.

Not really a big deal, but I am getting some pretty useless ads. Fantasy Football, Free Online Games, Catch Him Cheating on You, Guess, Free Online Calendar,... Stuff that I would never click on.

Wierd. Well, if you don't want to click on them, could you at least rollover the ad and send me the destination url name? That's how we cull the feed. Thanks.

I'd like to start off with a thank you. The forum is running much smoother and faster over the last few weeks, thanks for all the hard work! I had brought this idea up before (a month or so ago) and know there have been 200 more important things to take care of at the time. I still feel this is a really important issue now that the B&S forum threads to not get bumped themself. Personally keep an excel list of all my open and closed classifieds, the date to which they can be bumped next, but it takes me a long time to go and find each one even with the link to only my classifieds. All the open and closed items are jumbled together and there is no way to tell which is open or closed. I also seem to only count 14 open (im sure there are 15) as I can't post a 15th, but it's lost somewhere lol. I have a complex solution/idea below, but at very lease, would there be a way to either sort open listings to the top of the "started by" page or even better just note if they are open or closed. It would make my (and I'm guessing others) life SO much easier instead of opening each one and searching for the items to bump. That being said:

Took a min to throw together a photoshop of a page where you can see what classifieds you have open/closed/bump, condensed on one page with the "bump" and "close listing". I know it is a lot more work to get it to work for real, but just an idea as it would be nice not to have to go into each listing to close or bump the items, etc. Also included a screenshot of what craigslist uses so someone can manage all of their postings easily (not fancy, but gets the job done very well). Again not sure how hard this would be to create, I personally like the simplicity of the craigslist one and that green active on the left could change to a yellow "Bump" and a red "Closed". Let me know if I can be of any help.

^^^ good idea.

to add, I'd also like a button on my profile that says 'see all of M.C's B&S threads" or something like that. or some sort of box on my profile with a list of the top FS posts and then a 'click to see all' or something.

currently, I have to either do some sort of custom search (posts by my username, search word "sale" in title) or go to my profile and 'all threads started' and weed through them all...

is it possible to change how pictures are listed in b&s

the current system takes forever to load pictures. being able to post pics in the post would be awesome and would be so much easier to browse as it would only require that you scroll down instead of having to click next for every picture and then waiting 10 to 30 seconds for it to load.

You just have to use the [IMG]links from your photo hosting service and paste them in-line.

Or use HTML tags like you do on eBay to put pictures into the listings. Even better you can just copy and paste and entire ebay listing into the classifieds now :)

Here is an example: http://www.styleforum.net/t/267011/calling-all-small-guys-london-fog-towne-blue-single-breasted-trenchcoat-36s/0_50#post_4832892 spam[1].gif
