Here's an illustration of what I meant::

It's a bit bigger vertically, but not much. (I did also decrease the space between avatar and nickname though).

Or this one, which I prefer, with the name above the avatar:

Well, we are now officially working on this. I'm not going to 120x120 though.

Yay!

Also, boo! Come on Fok. 120x120 was the old forum default size. It made for proper bewb viewing. Anything else and you can't get the full experience. Plus, seeing Charles Bronson chew in slow motion, in a reduced size, just won't be as satisfying.

Thanks.

Here's a 100x100 version on the right. If you place (space) the elements as in the example (I don't know if that's technically possible), it will save you a (text) line in vertical space. I also bolded the user name, to give it a bit more "flesh".

My suggestion is to make the forum as fast as the old one.

We are working on that. Performance is topic number one.

It's going to look more like your earlier version. And we are also able to remove the "padding" now, so that will also save space. And since we also love Rambo, but less, we are going to give him a larger (100x100) avatar, but not the 120x120, because Rambo aside, I think most people prefer to have more posts, and less avatar.

MontrCristo, Install AdBlock. The speed increase is huge.

The site looks to be getting faster and faster each day.icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif (Yes 5 slayers)
I am able to read and post outside the B&S.biggrin.gif

Despite the dramatic increase in speed, the site is still IMO a little slow.

Yes, seems a lot faster today!

Like I said, performance - i.e. speed, is the number one concern, followed by information density.\

Cheers,

Fok.

Well, looks like my biggest complaint is getting addressed, which is really great. The back function in B & S sub-fora now works... sort of. If I click on 'footwear' in the MC drop down, I get the listing of all footwear. I click on a particular shoe that I'm interested in. Then I click on the back button (or in my case, press my mouse scroll wheel over to the left, which is set up to take me 'back' from any webpage I'm on to the one I was previously one).

What happens is that I am taken back to the main page of MC for a moment, and then the screen greys out and then the 'Footwear' listings reappear. The page jumps around and finally settles at the top of the page.

This is obviously better than it was. I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to work or if it's going to be tweaked further to eliminate the intermediate steps. I only tried it with MC-->footwear. I'll be giving it a try in the other sub-fora as well.

Thanks for this. I really don't know how anyone could browse the sub-fora while this problem was present, since once you clicked 'back', there was no way to get back to the area you were interested in without jumping through a bunch of hoops..

Bizarre. I don't get this (Chrome, WIndows7). Could you send me your OS, browser, and versions?
