Questions about the new Buying and Selling Classified questions - Page 4

The new classifieds are great, guys. Thanks for making all these adjustments. I had a couple more comments/questions below.

Adding photos to the main body of a post:

For some reason I still have trouble with this. I use Photobucket to host my images. Previously I would just copy the direct link with [IMG] tags and paste it into my post. The photos would appear in preview mode. I've tried this in both Rich Editor and BB Editor in the new system and neither work for me. I am using Safari so not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I did find a workaround however. I create my new classified and add just one hero image through the SF uploader. This will become my main thumbnail. I type all my text and then submit. Then, I go back to "edit post" (pencil icon) and the "add picture icon" appears in the toolbar. I use this to add photos directly from my computer. The images appear in the body of my text as they would in the other parts of the forum, though this method seems to resize them from their original size. If I want to add or change my thumbnail photo, I use "edit post" at the top of the entry (in the yellow field). 

It would be nice if I were able to copy and paste directly from Photobucket to save time. Or maybe we can get the "add picture" icon added to the toolbar when the initial classified is created.

Replying to questions in your sales post:

Are we allowed to reply to questions and comments in our thread without bumping them now? I'm sorry if I missed this under the new rules.

Searching by tags:

Are we able to search by tags? How does one do this?

Add photos the same, way (you need to be in the BB Editor), but instead of using the [img] tagged lines, use the HTML tagged lines. You can still include both large and smaller clickable images this way just like before.

You can replay to questions and comments in your thread, no problem. It is stated in the rules.

I have had luck just searching for what you wanted to search for and the search engine includes the tags when searching. (no a real big user of searches though so maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks, man. I'll give this a try. I wish I could do it in the Rich Editor, since the BB code is like looking at Sanskrit to me. :-)

What you can do, is put all the pictures you want in first in the BB Editor. Then switch over to the Rich Text Editor and do as you usually would to post. Once the pictures are inside the listing you can move them around like you would anything else. Cut/Copy/Paste, etc Just build the rest of your add around the pictures and then you dont have to deal with the "Sanskrit". :)

I know I brought this up the other day, but it is really bugging me tonight, so I was wondering if there is any plan to update the way you see the 15 posts in the B&S section you create. Something that is quick and easily, with time left to bump and where you can bump and close from one page without going into each add. If yes, there is something in the pipeline coming, I'll hold out on setting up my own excel spread sheet system. Thanks!

There is something being planned, but it's not really superhigh on the agenda right now. We will keep you informed of progress, but for now, I'm sorry

I know there are much more important things (like making the site run faster). Didn't know if it was a Huddler feature that just wanst being used to it full potential and would be easy. I can make a craigslist type list myself to keep track of everything, no bid deal.
