Questions about the new Buying and Selling Classified questions - Page 3

this is a dumb question but how do i get my listings to be listed like spoo's under my avatar?

nvm figured it out
Ok, so I fucked up on one of my listings and forgot to add in the "forum" picture. I tried to go into the editor and see if there was an option to do that. Is there? If not, could you guys please add one for me?

Oh, helloes:

Two questions:

1) I'm unable to send private messages from my iPhone (using both Firefox or Internet Explorer). It's potentially making me seem like a(n even bigger) grade-A douche, as undoubtedly, people can see I'm active on the forums, but apparently ignoring their PMs. Anyone else having a problem with this? Eh? Just me?

2) Is there a way to leave feedback for trades for items listed in the Official Thrifter's Trading Thread?

Thanks.

For #2, can you use the generic URL for the Official Thrifter's Trading Thread?

Click on the "Edit Details" next to where you see "Close Listing" when you open the add you just made and at the bottom should be an area to add pictures. There is no option if you are click the "edit listing" icon at the bottom of the page, but use the Edit Details button instead and you will be all set.

That did the trick. Thanks Brian.

Can we maybe condense that into the main edit option (the pencil) as well? That's a bit confusing.

I'm not sure about 1, I will ask.

2, because of the way it is designed, only the thread/classified originator can be involved in the feedback for a thread. I guess if you wanted to, you could set up a classified for the item, for trade, close it, and have the "buyer" leave feedback. Other than that or an old fashioned feedback thread, I don't think there is a way.

That is confusing, thanks for the tip Brian. I couldn't see how to do it either. It's extra confusing for me because there are mod tool links in there too. I will see if that can be made more obvious somehow, or at least add it to the B&S FAQ when we get that going.

No problem, it actually somewhat makes sense if you think about it. I'm guessing it is done this way, as "edit details" only relates to B&S posts where you have a preview picture. In all the regular forums you do not have the "edit details" link to click on as there no price, picture, etc to edit. In a regular forum post, you only have the "edit thread" (pencil) on the bottom which does not need to include the picture preview to edit as there is none (hope that made sense).

This also kind of relates to the other point that was brought up in regard to the toolbars being different, see post #22 in this thread. That to me is a more pressing concern and seem easily fixable by just having all the icons show up all the time.

On a side note, one HUGE improvement would be the simple ability to right click on "red underlined" words that are misspelled and chose the correct spelling from a list like in Microsoft word. I'm sure this is not something easy (or feasible) to incorporate, but would me awesome! I'm a bad speller and its just extra time consuming to use the "ABC" spell check button.

Make sure that you use the tags when you upload your threads. I actually missed it when I uploaded my threads the other day, as unfortunately there is no obvious way to see it when you are creating your thread. But, once your thread is active, click on it again and in the right hand column, you will see tags. You can add as many as you would like, and the autofill option is really handy. If you see a tag that is missing and you would like added, please email it to styleforum.net@gmail.com and it will be added.

I have played with one of my threads for about 15 minutes and I can't see how to add tags. I need a step by step.

Click on your thread, then hit "edit details" at the top. In the right column, under the ads and your links to your other classifieds, there is a line that says "Tags: Add/Remove".

Or without going into "edit details", just open a thread you created and on the right side you till see Tags "add/remove". The only issue I have found is that when I add Tags, it changes my "will ship to" locations to include some of the tags, see screenshot below as I am not shipping to "Hickey-Freeman-sportcoat"

If you are not shipping to Hickey Freeman Sportcoat, you are missing some opportunities, dude.

Is there an easy way to see the list my own sale threads? The "my posts" link on the top of the page includes all other posts and threads are sorted by "last post" time.

No. See post #29 above.

edit: The auto-complete wasn't working for me earlier, but I just reloaded and it is seamless. Eliminates all of the problems with sorting I was experiencing.

I have left as 'neutral' my feedback on the feedback page for 'the plunger', whereas I meant it to be a positive.,

How do i delete that rating?

Edit: Got it, thanks.
