Experiencing technical difficulties or have questions about specific functions? Please ask here.

In an attempt to consolidate the 50+ threads about the new forum, many of which are redundant, I am making three new threads. Please post your questions or comments in the relevant one. Please do not start new threads on this topic.

Thanks,

Fok.

This thread is for technical issues only. Suggestions for *specific* new functions can also be posted here. I cannot guarantee that they will be implemented, but we are listening.

When using the new photo uploader to upload multiple photos, is there a way to arrange the sequence of the photos? I am asking because when posting FS threads with multiple items it is kinda of confusing if the photos are in different orders than the text description.

And how are people doing the text-photo-text-photo mixed way? Photobucket or "my album"?

Is there a way to view polls that were created on the old system? Was looking at a thread that had a poll alongside it but didn't see any way to access it.

+1. It is REALLY annoying when the photo uploader arbitrarily reorders your images and you have no way of fixing them.

I'll bring this up in my next conversation with tech people.

Thank,

Fok.

When I edit a sales thread (have not tried with a non-sales thread), the system turns any non-numeric or alphabetical signs into gibberish. Example :

"Spoo's Megathread : Tie & PS edition"

becomes

"Spoo amp&";,s Megathread Tie amp&amp:',; PS edition"

or something of the like.

Also the first several letters of the body of text become AAAAAA.

When doing an advanced search, sometimes the first time you enter your search parameters and hit submit, the search terms automatically become " *-* " <--- literally looks like that. Kind of annoying to do it twice.

edit - this is what it actually looks like when someone sent me a PM about it :

Not sure if already reported:

Sometimes when writing a comment in the Thumbs Up box, the comment doesn't "take". i.e the thumbs-up is registered by the system, but my comment doesn't appear. Intermittent fault only; maybe 1 in 5, 1 in 6 uses.

(browser Firefox 3.xx - can't remember what; it's the most recent 3.xx one though. Everything else is updated too I believe.)

Also, I have no idea how to add someone to a PM, or forward one.

"Add" someone? As in, a group PM (eg: you send to two others)?

Forward: click into the PM in question, at the very top of the page, under the Private Messages header, you'll see a "Forward" button

I've gotten rid of most of those by switching to the BB editor instead of the god-awful RTF they have going on..
"My Profile" -> Edit Account Details -> Preferred Editor Type to BBCode

I have noticed that quoting certain posts causes this to happen, but otherwise it usually doesn't in BBmode.

For some reason I can't edit my sales thread in BBmode anymore. It automatically switches to RTF (> "This is Rich Format content so you've been switched to the Rich Editor.") which is an absolute PITA.

Everything was working fine with the BBeditor until today, any idea what happened ?

No idea. That is just wierd. You were using the BBeditor before, and never used the Rich Text format?
Well, as it turns out it only happens with my first sale threads so I guess I must've started them with the default RTFeditor when SF v.2 was introduced. Still, it's truly awful to edit, took me half an hour to add a couple of pics and some other details. What's the point of Rich text again ?

seems like in either IE for Foxfire the filters in the B&S have a few issues;

1) if you view an item that was a result of a filtered list, hitting the back button does not take you back to your filtered list, rather, the whole category (S&D) returns to page 1, with your filter criteria filled in...which brings me to

2)Once the filter criteria is selected, there is no "filter" button to initiate your filter...it is relying on an onupdate event which waits for you to change your filter before it actually "filters"...
