It's not solid black.
if you want just plain flat black, go to H&M. you can get one there for under $30 which will be completely indistinguishable from DH's. Only your credit card will know the difference.

I'm pretty sure the only place right now that carries a 4cm black tie would be Dior Homme on 57th St. Last time I was at H&M they didn't have anything that thin, and Saks and Barneys are sold out of black.
