Big feet, little ankles

Thread Starter
I am currently in the market for new sneakers/casual shoes. I am afflicted by a tragic case of feet that appear comically large in leather sneaks compared to my pencil ankles. What kind of casual shoe would downplay this feature and allow me to look less like a clown and more like a man?

Quick side note: I am a college student, so wing tips/loafers/driving mocs are out of bounds for me.

High tops?

your best bet is high tops. I also find that I like to wear higher athletic socks when wearing low cut casual shoes. Helps add some girth to your ankle and lower calf.

Is anyone else having a hard time visualizing OP's problem? Someone should post a pic/illustration/infographic
