new Yoox codes and sales - post them here - Page 213

I have a suspicion that they use the dreambox as a sort of poll of interest in certain items. So if an item is in a lot of dreamboxes and they know the purchasing history of those particular buyers, they can plan exactly how and at what price they want to let the piece go. I find that it's come down to watching things really closely and waiting for that first really juicy price cut and then boom, the people who've been watching the same item move and one of them gets it. I know I've been caught sleeping when I open my dream box in the afternoon and find that 10 or so items have evaporated in less than 24 hours.

IME it seems like lately the best stuff doesnt really move until they are just about to drop all of the new season stuff and then you start getting those drops or codes or both as Yoox finally "blinks" and decides to move the stuff on to make room. They know they have a built in buyer for the item at a certain price because of the dreambox data, so they wait and hope someone comes along and picks it up at the higher price (which occasionally happens) and they can pick up some extra incremental revenue. If noone comes along and their getting new stuff and need to move it on, they drop the price and throw it to us dogs to fight over.

I suspect that both Yoox and the users have gotten savvier over the years and the result is that it's much tighter to find really good deals. This is true for at least for the obviously nice stuff; there's still the odd fancy cashmere sweater or Caruso made suit that occasionally gets discovered under some goofy name (looking at you "SHIRTS & TIES").

I was afraid we are giving too much information to Yoox to monitor prices. So instead of saving items to my dreambox I created a hidden pinterest board and save them all there. :D

I think pinterest just retrieves the photo's url so I double Yoox knows what photos are pinned to a hidden pinterest board.

Does anyone have a code for sale? Read the last 3 pages and didn't see any offers

Has anyone seen a dreambox item's status alternates between sold out and available within a 24-hour interval on going for a period of time? I saw twice, both lasted a couple of months, and actually bought one on the day it reappeared coinciding with a promotion.

I've been really curious and wondered if this happened because someone wanted to keep the item for himself without letting it show under the general search view (e.g. it takes longer for an item to appear under general view than dreambox), so that he kept buying and canceling within a few hours everyday until its price dropped.

I called customer care to see if they were aware of such activities or could figure out what's going on. They knew nothing and didn't seem to care.

@ThinkDerm This is the one I bought recently. I can't imagine someone did that every day for a couple of months. Must've been a bot.

Was happening for me with a Partenopea sport coat. I got so annoyed that I just removed it from my dreambox.

I think this has to do with a glitch in their back-end. I used to see this a lot when they were moving stuff to a final sale status. Also, I think some funky stuff happens for items that are really really old that dont even show up anymore except in these occasional clearance sales they have. At any rate, the shifting of items from one category to another in the regular store seems to produce these glitches in the dream boxes.

Cantarelli on there is such a mixed bag, so I'm glad it worked out for you! I also lucked into a main line, 100% cashmere sport coat for $200 a few weeks back. Others have received diffusion lines that don't even exist anymore, and then needed to send the items back.
