It is funny how all S/S items are marked as final sales with no real price drops. Who would buy those final sales items now? Good job Yoox. First you add a 28% tax, then they asks for retail prices (sometimes above retail prices) for new items, and now you eliminate returns. I wonder how long Yoox will last.

WIth the price increases that do not come with better services, some of the other online retailers, even Gilt, are actually looking more attractive.

In Europe and many other countries every item is always returnable, even sample sale items.

The "Final Sale" thing, probably depends from american warehouse and afaik is only for canada and usa.

as stated prior - pay with an amex and use return protection if you don't like a final sale item

If you really want something from sample/final sale, I would say go ahead and get it; if you need to return it, try to find an excuse like "color, size material not as described", I've had luck bypassing the no return rule when I called customer service before.

My prediction is that some people may start getting their high-value items shipped to package forwarding services in states like Delaware, Oregon, and New Hampshire that don't have sales tax.

Example:

Joe goes crazy and buys several pairs of John Lobbs from the Barneys sale, for a total of $3500
Joe lives in California, where he'd get hit with a sales tax bill of $315 (9%)

To get around this problem, just get the shoes shipped to an Oregon forwarder
Pay the forwarder $20

Joe pays $20 instead of $315

Is this legal?
