Officer / Military style coats/jackets

Hi there,

I am currently looking for a good officer/military style coat/jacket for non-formal wear. It should ideally be double breasted and have a fitted look

To give you an idea, I like this RaRe coat but think its a bit too long (looking for short to mid length) and maybe a tad dull.

I'd be really interested in your suggestions where to look or maybe you have particular coats in mind. Thanks a lot! smile.gif

Probably the most classical Military overcoat that works well with "civilian clothing"
is the British Warm. I wore one for years when I lived in Chicago where winters
are especially bitter. Mine was a 32oz Melton from Chipp(Winston Tailors- SF Affiliate).
It didn't have epaulettes.

You might try ebay--I snagged a nice vintage USN officer's coat a few weeks ago for cheap!

Obviously a catwalk piece. Probably can't buy it for real.

Thanks a lot for the tips, a lot of inspiration already, really like that air force coat as well!

I found a few other examples from Balmain:

Do you know anything that comes close to pic #1 (I think this Belmain isn't available any more)?

EDIT: Just saw that these are in the latest collection:

Would you know a good online store where to shop Balmain?

Thanks!

Do you ship to Inner Mongolia? The winters can be rather cold here(-40C).

Had to make do with this getup last winter.

Knock-off Traffic parka(which fell apart after 3 months), knock-off Adidas hat, but the scarf was genuine Erdos.

I think you are looking for a slim pea coat. (Though I do not know about peacoat much.)
