Im looking for advice on Art Prints. What kind of prints are the best? Is Giclee a good type of print or do they glare and shine? I really know nothing about art prints and would appreciate some advice. thanks.

www.geminigel.com

The best of the best. All the blue-chippers have editions done here. The work is exquisite.

Bring the checkbook.

That is what I was going to post as well. There are a few others like Brook Alexander and Crown Point who do a good job as well. To me, prints done in this way truly are art, and not at all facsimile. Also, some artists are really great printmakers who take the time and interest to be great at it. Others just do it once in awhile and the work is so-so. Off the top of my head, some artists who are truly excellent in this medium are Jasper Johns (duh), Ed Ruscha, Ellsworth Kelly and John Baldessari. I actually think that some of Baldessari's prints are better than his "paintings".

I agree completely. They do an exhibition here in OKC and bring their editions from various artists. Turned my head around as well. A true group of artisans, very dedicated to both preserving the craft and breaking into new territory.

I like how the Michael Heizer says "no prints to show." Something about that makes me smile. Also, the Frank Stellas are perfect. You're right these guys are real artisans.
