Crazy Stupid Love Movie - Suits

Over the weekend watched the new Steve Carell movie. It was pretty good and I thought the suits were fantastic. What do you guys think?

I think this Zegna looks great

The shoulders on this suit look a little tight but I still think it looks awesome. Can anyone ID the designer of it?

Here you can see them in motion
I know most of SF is more about timeless than trendy but I truly think even though it's trendy it still looks good. And I can appreciate that. Thoughts?

The Gosling pic might be a Lanvin.

Also, the navy suit that Gosling wears at the end is also a Zegna; very nice suit.

" Entertainment Weekly broke down the details of his wardrobe and it turns out most of his suits were designed by Albert Hammond Jr. (yes, the Stroke) and Ilaria Urbinati, the owner of LA’s Confederacy, who commissioned Brooklyn based tailor, and style icon, Martin Greenfield to produce the designs, including the green hunting suit he wears while devouring a slice of Sbarro.

The film’s costume director, Dayna Pink, sourced shirts from Alexander McQueen, Simon Spurr and Yves Saint Laurent. "

They look fine.

That movie looks like complete and utter garbage.

And Carrell is a midget in real life. I saw him in NYC once and he's like four feet tall.

I totaly agree with you, the fit and styling of the suits on both steve and ryan are just marvelous.

What does going to the movies infrequently have to do with thinking this movie looks bad?

I go to many movies, this one looks like a suckfest.

Agreed, the movie was much much better than a lot of the stuff out (ie Green Lantern.) Also, style played a pivotal role in empowering a guy and helping him turn his life around. What's not to like for men's wear enthusiasts like ourselves?

I go about once every other week. Last movie I saw this past Sunday was Beginners, directed by Mike Mills. Although Ewan MacGregor dressed like a peasant in that movie, it was actually quite good.

That a movie is better than Green Lantern is not a selling point for me. You do make a good point that style helping someone turn his life around is in its favour.

Its a Carrell movie.. its not meant to be Shakespeare or Oscar material smile.gif It there for laughs.

I thought it was decent. Not as good as Date Night, but still decent.

I've seen Beginners and Crazy/Stupid/Love. Both good movies, but different genres.

And just as an fyi to my fellow style enthusiasts: Christopher Plummer, picked up a few Boss Selection suits when he was in Toronto.
