I like "Wanna Buy a Watch?" on Melrose.
I'm interested in checking this place out while I'm in L.A., but am worried about buying something and having it break once I go back to D.C. Have you been satisfied with the quality of the watch(es) you have purchased from this establishment?
Yes, I have been. I bought my fiancée a beautiful watch there, after spending a very long time making a choice with the help of an unflaggingly patient saleswoman. When I had a problem with it losing time, they fixed it immediately. (It turned out one of the hands was bent slightly downward and was catching on the numbers; the mechanism itself was fine.) Since then, it has run flawlessly. Likewise, when Tricia wanted to get a watch for me, she couldn't decide which of two to get, so she picked up one model (an Illinois "Manhattan") first. Then, we went back to the store together, and when I preferred the "Beau Geste" model, they made the exchange without a hitch. I haven't had a single problem with it, and I wear it every day. If you're interested in vintage watches at all, you should check out their web site: Wanna Buy A Watch?
