New Jets jerseys... eh. Pretty cool but I do not like the light-blue stripe on the coloured jerseys... they already paid enough homage to the RCAF with the logo; they didn't need to throw clashy AF blue in there. Maroon trim on the stripe would've been better

One month til the regular season! Woop woop, gonna try and catch at least 2 games this year... GF is at college in Buffalo so I may catch a Flames/Sabres or Jets/Sabres game, will be nice to see Regehr and flip off Kotalik. Then again, I could always head to Detroit; watching Datsyuk in person is sick.

Dying for the season to start....

In other news, Ovechkin switched equipment companies, from CCM to Bauer. Big news for the hockey player nerds out there.peepwall[1].gif

Hope you're not too serious about that! Reports from Russia saying a plane went down outside of Moscow with a full team of KHL guys on it. None confirmed, but that team's roster had at least several former NHLers. This offseason has been crazy with the number of hockey player deaths.

Wow what a messed up off-season.

From the Lokomotiv team roster, there's a handful of names most of you would probably recognize. Pavol Demitra, Karlis Skrastins, Josef Vasicek, Karel Rachunek. Ruslan Salei was rumored to have been waiting for the team in Minsk, but now hearing that he was also on the flight. Basically the whole team and coaching staff as well as four 18-19 year old guys from their junior team were on the plane.

This is really fucking shitty. Again, horrible off-season for hockey. RIP... just seems like yesterday Demitra was lighting it up in the Olympics, and I remember watching Salei at the Wings game I went to last year. Lots of familiar names... sad.

Last survivor of the Lokomotiv crash died. I've had enough hockey-related bad news for the summer...

Training Camp starts in a week. Training Camp starts in a week. Training Camp starts in a week........

What a disastrous off-season for hockey. The worst part about it is that the NHL will more than likely learn nothing from the three player deaths that occurred over the summer. Hopefully the KHL will stop flying their teams around in crappy aircrafts, but that's Russia for you...

Rookie camp starts/ started! I'm not there though. I'm going to maintain my free agent status. foo.gif

Howbout some good. Ryan Callahan named 26th captain of the Rangers, another Captain America. How can anybody root against this guy...all heart, great choice, and the natural one if you ask me.

no joke, first thing I thought when I read that was "NYR is gonna LOVE this." i haven't paid much attention to the guy, but that type of player has got to be my favourite. from what you say he sounds like a young marty st louis; fucking love that guy... to think that calgary had him signed at one point in time. sigh...
