As for Voukun to Pitt, the thinking to give MAF more rest, so he can be better down the stretch and in the playoffs is incredibly smart. How does this change the Jordan Staal situation? Do they still have room to re-sign him?

I was at the Rock for game 2. Not sure where these comments are coming from that there are empty seats. The place was packed. Angling now to score my tickets for game 5.

lol reffing, a call that would never have been 5 and a game in this postseason which of course leads to 3 goals on the pp. good fucking game

i like how scuderi peeked out to see if there was a call coming and then went back to his "look im bleeding and motionless after suiciding facefirst into the boards" routine

i thought the 5 call was obvious

i just feel like i've seen very similar hits not earn 5 and a game in the earlier rounds; maybe my perception is changed by the fact they scored 3 goals on it.

Totally.

I did not care who won. (Sour grapes in Hockey Town, I guess.) Congrats to the Kings.

But, I think the presentation of the Stanley Cup ceremony is still the classiest act in all of sports. Always, I like the handshake.

I hope this LA victory can do the same thing for hockey that the Ranger Cup did in '94, like exposing this wonderful sport to millions who never knew, and because they are the team from the TV Capital of the world (sorry the Ducks are LA's Islanders), millions more.

When is it safe to start a 2012-2013 NHL thread? Free agent day? July 1. See you guys there.

Congrats to the Kings (guess I was wrong). At least we got further than the Rags. I hope we re-sign Parise and Marty looks pretty good to come back another year. I am pretty confident that the Devils are at least back to the elite level where we were for a long time after the recent drop-off in quality.

Heard he (Parise) was building a house in the mid-west...Detroit anyone?

So did I at the time but Marek makes a good point that he never actually turned his skates until Bernier was already past the goal line. Until then he was skating around the net. He tried to hit him in the shoulder and Scuderi turned at the last minute. Bernier's job is to finish hits. Probably still the right call but not as black and white as I initially thought.
