OK, now tell me there's no Canadian bias. How that goal could stand in ANYONE'S EYES, is beyond me. The league is the WWE, plain and simple.

Glad to see the Rangers pull out a victory. Here's hoping for a victory at MSG to take the series.

From Toronto to the NYR broadcast crew:

"video review was inconclusive so the goal could not be overturned". rotflmao.gif

Lundqvist on Ottawa's final goal: "When it's goalie interference and a kick and they still call it a goal, it scares me." "Somebody wanted them in this game".

wow Coyotes. Well done.

Well, no. It might have been the wrong call on not calling goalie interference. Kind of borderline whether it was the fault of the dozen Rangers in the crease or the dozen Senators that Lundqvist was out of position. However, you cannot overturn a call on the ice that there was no goalie interference. If the ref didn't see it, that's final. As for the kick, he missed the puck with his skate. So it does not surprise me in the least that the goal was allowed to stand.

I say that and I'm cheering for the Rangers to win this series.

This is where I disagree...not on the bias part, but on the kick. Yes, the net cam shows it may not have been kicked in, but the overhead clearly shows a kicking motion, the puck picking up speed and going in. As far as GI, even the TSN crew said it was an easy penalty. Neil sticks Henrick, pushed him out of the crease, and then kicks the puck in. If that goal was scored by the Rangers it'd be all over the front page of every Canadian paper.

I personally think it was kicked in, but since the video replay can't definitively prove it, the call on the ice stands. I'm just glad it didn't decide the game.

Even the terrible penalty calls setting up the 2 man adv for the Rangers didn't really even decide the game. The sens laid an egg in the 2nd period and they paid for it.

Game 7 baby!

I don't think it was - the angle from behind him (low ice iso angle) they showed on CBC made it pretty damned obvious. I think the NHL has that feed. Not that it matters now.

it was definitely inconclusive enough to not overturn the call on the ice, which is the kicker (lol). i might be wrong on this as i was only half paying attention, but the TSN panel also discussed how there was a GM meeting regarding making goaltender interference calls reviewable and it had zero traction with all but 3 of the league's GMs. bob mackenzie was saying it was similar to the double-minor high sticking calls being reviewable; if someone else saw this and could clarify, that would be great.

funny thing i saw on twitter - the coyotes only won a playoff series the year that the jets came back to the league. how's that for a curse?

also, quick vs. elliot and smith vs. rinne; im calling quick and rinne. so awesome to see epic goaltender showdowns icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

so sad the nightly doubleheaders are over. good-bye, first round.. frown.gif

+1.

Epic were the weekends that a game started at noon, then another at 3, then another at 6, and then another way out west at 10.

In all seriousness, I'm indifferent. Just curious who will step up to the contract. Leafs? Tampa?
