This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

Hickey by Hickey Freeman on Gilt, $400... worth it? - Page 3

I know your question was about Hickey, but I thought this was relevant: I bought some HF suits off Gilt a few months ago and returned them all. They were not HF and looked to made for Gilt (as many of their items are these days) to a lower quality than standard HF (easily ID'd as having no model name on tag) . I was unimpressed.
YMMV.
Perhaps they were "Hickey" (also called "Hickey Style") suits. The Hickey line is a discontinued line, but gilt still sells them. They are fused, and yes-lower quality than regular Hickey Freeman lines. Of course, if you're sure that they weren't from the Hickey line, then this is good information-even if disconcerting.

For sure Hickey Freeman
Bluefly has a Hickey by HF suit for $599 that they claim is canvassed. Thoughts? Has anyone ever had a Hickey by HF suit that was canvassed?
Fred
It may be that some Hickey suits are canvassed, but the ones I've come across have not been canvassed. I once ordered two Hickey suits from Gilt, and the pinch test told me that they were fused. I returned one suit because while it was supposedly "worsted wool", it wasn't worsted very well (the fabric was fluffy and rough). The other suit I brought to Nick Lopez's tailor shop in Houston, and one of the tailors cut it open while I watched and showed me that it was, indeed, fused.
You could always take a gamble on the Bluefly suit, and just return it and complain if it's actually fused.
