And? Read the article a few days ago and thought "so what?" Bars/clubs have had dress codes for a long time. Many places wont let you in if you're in a t-shirt, jeans, do-rags, hats, timberlands, etc.

I have a friend with a showroom on St Mark's place. It's not bad. There are some decent Banh Mi places around there. Not great, but decent.

Max, you're 20 and hang out at The Carlyle. You need to hit the club scene when you turn 21....it's a rush.

Maybe you can teach them to look up?

Lulz @ the author thinking they've come across some deeper level truth. Wow, clothing sends messages and helps identify your sub-cultural affiliation? Who would have thought!

Screw the debt ceiling the real problem is outfits like the New York City Commission on Human Rights and the fact that they use tax dollars. I love the fact that a dress code that basically says "no ugly, tacky clothes allowed" is assumed to be directed at black folks. Who is being racist again?

Guys confused by the upscale tiki-lounge concept are encouraged to wear “a nice sports coat, a really great flower-print shirt underneath, maybe a matching pocket square,”
