The title says it all,if you have/had/want a nokia this is the place for you

history of my cellphones iirc everyone of them

Nokia 6230
Nokia 6300
i had some Samsung this time which i quickly switched for Nokia
Nokia N73(fantastic phone,i've swimmed in the pool with it in my pocket for 2-3 minutes then realized and just dried it with napkins and put it in a bag of rice, worked for 7 more months)'
Nokia 5500(another amazing phone,won several bets with it,practically waterproof,dustproof,shockproof)
Nokia E7 (current phone, amazing is the only word i can pick for it,it's AWESOME)

What models did/do you have?

I've always liked the Nokias until recently.

I've had...
3310 a classic, lasts forever. Ten years old, and one still sees people using them.
6100 a nice no-nonsense candybar phone.
6600 solid and well made, my first smart-phone.
N95 very advanced for its time, but the screen was too fragile.
E71 my favourite, until the keypad wore out late last year.

But now that Nokia has partnered with Microsoft *, and is killing off Symbian(' Burning Platform ** ') in favour of Windows Phone, I won't be getting another one.

My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy S with CyanogenMod CM7 custom Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Likely to be staying with Android phones now for the foreseeable future. Because it's open and not locked into proprietary software on the PC. Windows Phone requires the Windows only Zune software. The iPhone is not really an option for me either.

I love Nokia hardware. Don't know what they're thinking switching to Microsoft OS. I wonder why they didn't try to link up with Android.

I've had a Nokia N73 unlocked - that I quickly broke.
Currently have a Nokia N8 that I love for its camera but it's a little buggy.

I think that the nokia/ms partnership could be good for both companies. MS needs to get the OS on more hardware because it came in so late and Nokia needs a good OS. I bet Nokia got a sweetheart of a deal. Although Nokia has been faltering, it's their software that sucks but they still make tons of handsets. The MS ecosystem is very strong and will get even stronger with the release of windows 8 since they're attempting to get to a place where you can develop for the phone, the os, or a tablet with very little modification to your code and there will be a common look and feel across all devices.

Pretty much everyone that's reviewed the windows 7 phone says it's a great offering but late to the party. I think that MS is catching up fast in features. MS will soon be the only offering besides blackberry that will have full enterprise support (meaning full management), and that could be a very big thing. Full management won't make it into this fall's release, but it will be in for next fall.

^ this.

Considering that windows still powers upwards of 90% of the worlds pc's and coupled with the hardware quality nokia is still known for the combination will rock.. Loads of people still recognize the nokia name, and will go for the support that MC can give. truly, I dont think it matters that they are "late" to the party, even if they are.

BTW, Im wondering what MC is going to do with skype...

I loved my E71x. If i could have a sleek phone like Nokia makes but with Android OS I would be all over it.

My old school nokia brick cell phone actually still works.

Skype will support Microsoft devices like Xbox and Kinect, Windows Phone and a wide array of Windows devices, and Microsoft will connect Skype users with Lync, Outlook, Xbox Live and other communities.

The addition of skype to Lync server will be really nice, allowing users to call regular phones outside the organization without 3rd party sip providers/telcos or whatever.

I think MS is going to smoke BB unless BB makes major improvements VERY fast. The windows phone os is way better than BB's, and with the MS solution, most enterprises won't need separate blackberry servers if they already have an exchange/system center infrastructure (which most large ms shops do).

A fully integrated skype into your phone would be awesome, and it seems like its coming. I wonder, will MS have the guts to start a service like google phone? That would really disrupt the telco market...
